I still can't say for sure if this is a one-shot story or if it's the beginning of a series. Goodreads tells me one thing, the book tells tells me another, I'm... Am I missing something here? I'll go with one-shot for now, if only because I can't picture a nice sequel, it pretty much ended where it did. Now... Encounter. It was a nice book, I guess. Short, which is great; read quickly, with an interesting albeit messy narrative — meaning, we had both objective descriptions of what was going on in the camera recording and long, deep insights of what the characters were thinking. I didn't care much for the romance, which was definitely a downer, but I really just couldn't understand how Ricky and Josh's friendship worked in the first place; how were they even friends? I get that the point is that they are opposites and those are attracted by each other yada yada I guess, but this? Josh was an annoying asshat all the time, Ricky didn't really seem to like him until he did, and the coming out scene... yeah. I wish we'd gotten more aliens and less crop shenanigans.
I wrote this review based on the entire series!!
These are all short quick reads with a little bit of steaminess thrown in. The last book The Intern is the most steamy out of all of them and it was probably my favorite out of the 3 as well. I say it's my favorite but I enjoyed all of them. They all pretty much had the same premise just different story lines. I only have two complaints really and that is I prefer a HEA (happily ever after) not a HFN (happy for now) although I knew what I was getting into going into these and the endings were really good but still it's personal preference. Also I would have liked more from all of the stories. As it is I feel like I just got little parts of what could have been a great full length book. I definitely enjoyed this authors writing and would love to read his full length novels.
