Although the arc of the plot is predictable, it's a refreshing change to read women's fiction told from a male POV. Add in the rare, devastating Huntington's disease and an endearing but challenging pre-teen with sensory integration issues and the result is an above average read. I could have easily spent another hundred pages with these characters. Highly recommended for readers who like Marisa de los Santos, Barbara O'Neal, Jo-Ann Mapson, etc.
