Just when I thought Michael J. Sullivan couldn't get better, he surprised me with this book. I love the characters even more than ever. Hadrian and Royce will forever be my favorite friends in books.

Another good popcorn fantasy book set in the Riyria universe. Nothing heavy or hard to read here, just pure fun. Maybe wish it was a little longer, but overall, a decent mostly light-hearted book.

Hadrian is still the best.

5 stars! Review will be full of spoilers.

Biggest revelation from this book:

* Royce was not always good at planning stuff (aka he was an idiot at one point)

Absolutely fantastic. More plot-based than character-based this time around (which I don't mind but I do prefer otherwise), yet still great fun.

Another wonderful book from Michael J. Sullivan. I love reading tales of Hadrian and Royce. Learning more about Gwen is a treat. This time we also learn how Hilfrid became Arista's bodyguard. I just want more, as usual!

Got kinda bored, nothing very exciting, and not enough of Hadrian and Royce.
