Decent YA series, with good characters. I was happy the main protagonist wasn't annoying, and performed the unexpected now and then.
Reread!
During this reread I can't believe it was that sex scene that got me fangirling so hard. Thankfully there's decent fanfic out there to do it legitimate justice lol.
3.5
I think the end did not really fit the narrative and was therefore also a bit undercooked. Also I wished for a bit more connecting interaction between Jude and Cardan
This book js about so much more than jusf Jude & Cardan and I was so interestsd in everything BUT THEY ARE THE BEST COUPLE
Nothing grand but very addictive and an amazing conclusion to one of my favorite trilogies.

This series felt awfully average, don't really get the hype. The world building is non-existent, the romance is way too underdeveloped and the characters outside of Jude don't really get that much focus or development. Even Cardan felt like a side character 90% of the time and we don't really see that many interactions with him. Enjoyed the first book way more than the last 2, and found Cardan so much more interesting there with a lot of room for growth. Granted, it was entertaining enough to make me want to finish the series.
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my heart.
I love Cardan.
This is the perfect YA fantasy trilogy to me. The second book, to me, was a little lackluster, but it set up the plot and drove the store.
The first and third books = chef's kiss masterpieces.
I am obsessed.
A perfect ending to a good series
If you loved the first two books you'll love this one. Said it befor, Holly Black's works never disappoint me.
Adding 1 star for the conclusion of the series, just because some things were explained from previous installments. But still this series isn't didn't work for me.
(4.5, rounded down)
the only reason this dosent get 5 stars is bc cardan is gone for too much of the book
I was worried going into this book because a lot of people have said it wasn't as good as they were hoping it would be but for me it delivered, for the most part. It was action packed which I loved. Then there was the romance which again I loved however I didn't get enough of it. Also If you know what went down with Jude and her twin Taryn then you know why I am not happy with how things ended up between them. There needed to be more. The ending also felt a little rushed. After everything I wanted more from Jude and Cardan in the end.
This book was interesting, but it didn't captivate me enough. I think that it was a good end for the trilogy but the resolution of the conflict wasn't epic enough and maybe too easy.
I liked the beginning, but then I felt that the characters were just walking around with little purpose. I recommend the trilogy but it wasn't my favorite.
