The amount I can read sometimes truly startles me. When there are no distractions, I can get through books quite quickly and it's truly a blessing in disguise
Rating has gone from 4 stars to 4.5 stars!!
Holly did a wonderful job of cutting out the less important details in order to keep the plot moving and the story lean. Impressive YA series!
5 star ⭐
Why oh why did this have to end??? I loved every single second of this fantastic conclusion to the Folk Of the Air trilogy. Taryn has definitely gotten better for me, and I loved the ending! #family#faerieland#pizza#newbeginnings#stories
AND SCHEMING GREAT SCHEMES. Loved it.
4.5
Loved the series and how unpredictable it was. I was left wanting more Cardan and Jude moments, as they were apart in most of the series. But Jude's character has become one of my favorites, she's incredibly strong and unrelenting. I hope we'll get more Cardan and Jude one day!
Now i totally get why this series is the favorite of many people. I think it's now one of my favs tooo
Im gonna miss jude and carden!
Since book 2 ended with the two getting married it kind of annoyed me that immediately we're back to square one with the romance. I didn't really want to read about all the other side plots so I mostly flicked through it. Have marked book as “abandoned”.
Holy crap this was INCREDIBLE. Jude and Cardon have my heart. Holly Black is a genius and crafted such a beautiful finale to the series. Will be adding this to my to-buy list.
really great conclusion to the trilogy. the romance and war elements were on point
The conclusion to this strange-strange trilogy actually surprised me! It improved on everything lacking in the first two books. Jude isn't acting like a cringy anime protagonist anymore, Cardan's tail is mentioned several times, and the ending isn't totally predictable in some details? Amazing.
zoooooomed through this so i could start a new book LOL
overall for the whole series, 8/10. loved it and will re-read for sure.
this was a solid 3 star series
loved the first half of this one and then it got kinda boring :/ love the characters but every book in the series had me reading with a straight face and took me way too long to finish it so it's not anything amazing to me personally
First half of the book I was hooked, but the ending was so rushed and underwhelming that ruined it for me...
The finale in its series presents a rollercoaster of plot twists and turns, but ultimately, it feels like it could have been more effective if combined with the previous book. While the ambition to create a thrilling conclusion is apparent, the execution falls short, leaving much to be desired. The story is packed with surprises, but these elements are not given enough room to be fully fleshed out or explored. This approach results in a narrative that feels rushed and somewhat disjointed, making it challenging for readers to fully immerse themselves in the story.
The book's pacing is uneven, with some sections moving too quickly to allow significant developments to resonate. It's as if the author tried to cram too many ideas into one book, which might have been more impactful if allowed to unfold over a more extended narrative. This compression of events leads to confusion rather than the intended surprise or excitement, as key plot points seem to appear out of nowhere without sufficient buildup or context.
Character arcs, which have been carefully developed over the series, also suffer in this condensed format. The rapid progression of the plot leaves little space for characters to react and evolve in a way that feels true to their established personalities. This lack of character depth in crucial moments undermines the emotional investment in the story.
In conclusion, The Queen of Nothing demonstrates potential but is hindered by its attempt to cover too much ground in a limited space. A merger with the previous book, allowing for a more expansive and detailed exploration of the plot and characters, could have provided a more satisfying and coherent conclusion to this intriguing series.”
