Was a good book but not as great as Percy and i found the characters a lot more irritating, especially in later books, but it was a fun book all things considered.
Super fun. I loved how the twist was just enough to keep me guessing. I mean, I knew certain things were important because of the placement, but I just couldn't quite track down why or how they integrated into the story. The next book is going to be amazing!
i thought that i had blindly given this 5 stars out of nostalgia,,
rereading this i saw that this is just as good as i remembered,, rose colored glasses be damned
As a huge fan of Rick Riordan's other books, I greatly anticipated his latest release. This release did not disappoint. I greatly enjoyed the mixture of Greek and Roman mythology, and the manner in which Riordan created two distinct worlds based on the difference between the mythologies. I did feel at times that the humor and “teenager-ness” was forced. The set up for further story telling is interesting, and I look forward for the rest of the series.
Después de casi un año por fin termine este libro, una disculpa Rick. Hubo partes que me aburrieron y lo deje como a los diez días y lo comencé otra vez ayer. Fue pesado pero bueno, ahora continuemos con El Hijo de Neptuno.
I forgot how much I LOVE this series!!! Honestly, I think I like this series overall more than PJO...
Gosto desse, é uma boa abertura pra série. Os combates são empolgantes de certo modo, mas são os mais fracos da pentalogia. O Jason é bem mala nesse livro, Pep também, já o Leo é carismático desde o começo.
I liked Piper and Leo and Medea (which felt like a callback to earlier books with the villain trickery)but that was it. This book was far too long for no reason. I did not like how so many chapters opened with a dream sequence, it felt very repetitive. The cliffhanger of Percy being at a different camp and the new trio needing to get to Greece was redeeming, hopefully this means the future books will be better
Me gustó.
A fantastic read!
We have the continuation of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians with an expanded cast and higher stakes (if that is even possible).
I loved the 3 main POVs we have (even more than I did the ones in Percy Jackson series). These kids are around 16, so slightly more mature and therefore a bit more easy to follow.
The mystery and the new arch-enemy of our characters were top notch.
I am so looking forward to continuing with the series.
It was certainly a choice to write a nearly 600 page!!! Book of the series without Percy Jackson, but thankfully Riordan knows how to write characters. Still not quite as good as most of the Percy Jackson series but still pretty great. About as good as I remember as a kid.
goodreads hates me cuz it kicked me out the first time i tried to write my review.
you know that one dance moms quote that is like “im just trying to enjoy my evening when all of a sudden i hear this agitating grating voice” that is me when the chapter is not in leos pov. i forgot how much i disliked the new group. jason and piper get better throughout the book but they are so annoying at first it makes it hard to read. i really do miss the old group. i have two notes one after another on my kindle copy that say “i miss percy” and the one a few pages after is “i miss grover too”. like u cant outdo the doer ya know? maybe its just nostalgia that makes me think this but i just finished the first series so i think my point is justified.

The first book of the series introduces some exciting new characters and matches the tone and excitement of the original series perfectly.
Age range: 10+
Younger readers may find it a little scary.
the perfect beginning for the new series, loved the new characters so much and I was so happy to have annabeth, thalia and the rest back, I missed these people so much❤️
“You must forge your own path for it to mean anything.”
I don't know what it is about Rick Riordan's works that never fail to have me in a chokehold. It's something about the Percy Jackson universe that is so comforting for me to read.
The Lost Hero had a plot that was so well thought out and made me never want to put this book down. I loved and appreciated that it included and mentioned characters from the Percy Jackson series. The minute that Annabeth appeared and Percy was mentioned I think I cheered because they are so special to me and this felt like coming home.
Leo was such a highlight character for me. He was full of pure sunshine and he never failed to make me laugh with his quick wit and banter. I can't wait to get to know these characters more. I have a feeling they are going to mean the same to me as Rick's other characters.
I am so excited to read the rest of this series.
There was a big gap between when I actually started this book and finishing it. I kind of abandoned it over the holidays. By the time I had recovered from said holidays and realized I haven't finished this book I was pretty close to the end. The end definitely grabbed me though and things were clicking into place about the story even though it had been over a month since I had read most of it. If you liked the Percy Jackson series, this is worth reading.
Si me había gustado la primera saga de Percy Jackson, esta, en su primer libro, me está volando la cabeza, emocionado por el resto, me encanta
ah yes I love a Rick Riordan book.. adults trying to kill children and a bunch of kids with mommy/daddy issues
anyways my favourite character is the dragon and Leo is warming up to me
Spoilers for PJO
In The Lost Hero (the 6th book of the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles), we follow Jason, Piper and Leo.
Still, prepare to come across or hear about some cherished characters from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series such as Annabeth, Percy, Thalia, Clarisse, Silena and (obviously) Chiron.
The story takes place only a few years after the Titan war where a lot of demigods fought to stop Kronos from taking control of Olympus.
Piper's dad disappeared. But her dad is Tristan McLean, a famous actor from The King of Sparta, which keeps her from talking about him, even to her friends.
Jason doesn't remember who he is. He has to find a way to get his memory back. Little did he know, it was going to be way more difficult than he expected.
Leo has some weird things going on in his life and slowly figures out the cause of all things that happened in his past.
When the three of them are sent on a quest to save Hera, they learn some shocking things about themselves.
How will they manage their lives as heroes? Join them on their journey along with new friendships, trust, family, self-acceptance and of course, enemies.
**************Annabeth's boyfriend, Percy Jackson, has gone missing. She, along with Butch and the Hunters of Artemis are sent to find him.**************
In this book, you will keep learning about Greek mythology and slowly get introduced to Roman mythology along with the gods' multiple personalities.
MAJOR HOO (TLH) SPOILERS!!!
Rick Riordan is an absolute genius.
The way he sets for the plot so subtly chapters ahead (sometimes even book or entire series)!
First, we find out that Percy Jackson is missing.
Then, there is Jason, coming at Camp Half-Blood with a purple shirt.
Jason's brain is wired to think in roman terms, calling himself the son of Jupiter.
During the story, Hera keeps reminding them about the existence of other demigods and an exchange that Jason has made.
At the end of the book, we find out that all this time, Percy was at Camp Jupiter (being the camp for the roman-born demigods with an orange shirt, not knowing who he was, using Greek terms.
The “exchange” being Percy and Jason switching camps to help bring peace between the Greek and the Roman demigods. They will have to come together to fight what is coming next.
I also love that the next book is called The Son of Neptune, meaning Percy Jackson.
Neptune is Poseidon's roman form.
