This series ended with the next great prophecies, to be continued to the next series, heroes of olympus.
And that right there is how you properly end a series. I loved the Percy Jackson series, and even still this took me off guard with how fantastic it was. The intense emotions that are packed into this novel are incredible. I love how invested I was in every page, in every line. I was so happy. I also genuinely cried multiple times. The ending was flawless. Well done, Riordan!
My first time around reading this series, I said Battle of the Labyrinth was my favorite of the five. I've changed my mind. Now The Last Olympian is definitely my favorite. There's so much action and my babies are all grown up and Percabeth is just the cutest thing, and I just love all of it and even Luke and what he did and- sigh
You have to read this fucking series.
These books were so thoroughly enjoyable. Full of action, adventure, and characters and friendships that developed beautifully over the course of the series.
THIS WAS ... FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
So now, I like first and last book best, WOOHOOOO :D
A WHOLE BOOK DESIGNATED FOR ONE BATTLE !! DO YOU KNOW HOW COOL THAT IS? IT WAS SOOOO NICE READING THAT FOR A CHANCE.
the other books all had the same pattern and sometimes it felt as if a lot of things were so random and as if Rick Riordan accidentally spilled his cup of tea on his keyboard. But that's not the point.
I LOVED THIS BOOK
but ... but ... I hate finishing the series. Some stuff broke my heart and abandoning little Percy now feels.... like having your own child taken away from you.
But i will live... I survived Harry Potter's ending, I will survive this. wipes her eyes
WOW, HAD I FORGOTTEN THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD! I mean, I was at the edge of my seat even though I knew what was happening. Definitely my one of my favorite books of this series. Amazing.

I am just so damn happy for this book, and the series as a whole. It never failed my expectations, not even a tiny bit! It was very fun and kept me attached to the plot. After 5 books, we finally get to know what the GREAT PROPHECY is all about. So much has happened in this book that some parts seems to become a blur to me.
For the characters, i was so happy for Percy's mom because she finally found someone who truly deserves her. Nico di Angelo's character was a great deal in this book and I'm glad he didn't actually turn out like the person I'd thought he'd be. And Luke was kind of the real hero here (i won't spoil so just read it). And guess what, PERCABETH is official!!!
I don't wanna say too much because my reviews are getting really tedious and what I have to say is almost similar to the previous books. I just really think that this was the best ending for such an unforgettable series. It won't dissapoint you with its ending. I RECOMMEND OH SO SO SO MUCH!!!
Good book. Pretty decent end to the series, but I was unimpressed with the resolution of the Kronos storyline. I feel like either I missed something important or RR made the final confrontation too simple.
In this final book in the Percy Jackson series (though not Riordan's final book, thank goodness) the evil forces have descended fully upon the United States. The gods battle in the Midwest while the young demi-gods take their fight directly to New York City, the ultimate destination of the monsters and Titans. My first impression while I was reading this book was how wonderfully competent Percy had grown to be. At the very beginning of the book it becomes obvious that he is no longer relying on luck or assistance from those more capable than he is. Now he is the capable one. I read these books in quick succession, especially the last three. This changed how I experienced them, as compared to books I've had to wait for like the Harry Potter books. At times I was a little surprised at how much the characters had grown but I had to remind myself that time had passed and they had had time to plan and develop their skills. I loved this entire series, have recommended it to others, and will continue to recommend it as long as people will listen to me!
What an ending. As far as series go, it ended very well. Riordan wrapped up loose ends and still left the possibly of picking up a new story in The Lost Hero. I was kind of sad to see these characters go. I'm definitely going to look forward to reading The Lost Hero and the new adventures Camp Half Blood will have in the future.
Percy starts to grow up... and everything starts to get mushy. There's really nothing new in this book. No ‘startling' moments, only more of the same from the last four entries in this series. To top it all, the ending was totally predictable. IMHO, this is the worst book in the series, but it's still ‘OK'.
The amazing final book of the Percy Jackson series.
The final battle between the Titans and the Olympians is starting. Typhon has awakened and is now wreaking havoc everywhere. With the Gods busy battling them, and Poseidon defending his own undersea kingdom, it's up to Percy and his friends to defend New York from the assaults led by their former friend — Luke Castellan.
While the Great Prophecy doesn't sound too good, Percy has a lot of other things he needs to worry about. Hades won't help the Olympians, just like how the Ares cabin refuses to help their friends, and there is still a spy among them. When he meets Luke's mother in person, Percy knows that there are still many mysteries left unsolved.
Follow Percy's last adventure as he eventually makes the ultimate decision, fulfilling his role as it was described in the Great Prophecy. The fate of Olympus is indeed in his hands.. though what will happen next isn't exactly what he expected.
I love Rick Riordan's writing style as well as the amount of action is his books. The Last Olympian is fast-paced and full of action, just like the other books in the series. Because they're not on a “mission” this time, for me this book doesn't feel as adventurous as the prequels. However, the descriptive battle scenes and unpredictable twists makes up for it.
Since I love almost all of the major characters, it's really relieving that none of them died in the book. A lot of people might not share the same opinion, but I might not be able to enjoy the ending if someone important dies.
Overall, this is a great finale for the Percy Jackson series. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys fantasy and adventure, mixed with Greek mythology. :)
