I think this is a solid 4 star book. It's good, and it's fun - kinda like a beach read but thriller style - but it doesn't really amount to anything beyond a breezy time. I think the plot dragged a bit in the middle, but it's an easy read and I enjoyed it for what it was.
The story pulled me in initially but then the plot line jumped all around date wise and with characters. There were some interesting connections made in the end, but it was hard for me to follow when the dates jumped all around.
Overall it was meh. I connected with one character and similar situation(s), but I felt like this was almost a high school assignment that I just had to finish and didn't fully enjoy.
Parallel storylines following two women both running from messy, messy lives. This was a quick, compulsive read. I enjoyed the back and forth between the two women's stories and found myself thinking about this story when I wasn't reading it- always a good sign. This is not a new book, it came out in 2020 and hit my radar from other bookstagrammers' posts. If you see it on the Target book aisle, grab it and be confident that it's a solid escapist piece, one that will pull you in from page one and keep you sucked in until the last thread is tied up on the very last page.
I enjoyed this thriller. It was an interesting read and good for my book club. The first fourth of the book had me engrossed and flying through the pages, then it slowed down a bit and I expected it to pick back up again near the end, but it never felt as thrilling as in the beginning. I didn't give it five stars because something about it didn't hit the mark for me... maybe it felt a bit too surface level in the present day sections. Anyway it was worth reading but kind of forgettable.
Very strong main characters, especially Eva, but I felt like both of them could have been fuller. There was a bit of info that I just felt we didn't get.
Overall, a very satisfying book, with fun twists and turns.
i'm so disappointed with this; i lost interest the moment we started to learn about eva's backstory. i could not have cared less. and what i guess were supposed to be the twists near the end just felt so unbelievable or unwarranted that i just got annoyed
3.25 stars. I want to start this review by saying I didn't outright dislike this book. In fact, there were parts of it that I enjoyed, especially the last 60 pages or so. I also liked the little twists sprinkled in. However, the story just couldn't hold my attention for more than a chapter or two and I'm not sure why. I really enjoyed Julie Clark's The Ones We Choose (check out my review from August!), which is why I had such high hopes for The Last Flight. Unfortunately, I just wasn't super motiv
I rarely stay awake reading into the night, but this book was my exception. From the first chapter to the last, I was hooked. I desperately needed to know if both women succeeded in escaping their dangerous situations. I sacrificed sleep and was not disappointed.
Captivating! Both women's stories were interesting and had solid backstories without being excessive. They wove together well, too. Eva's story was my favorite and I loved being able to get to know her character through Claire as well. Some moments threw me for a loop which I always enjoy. Never wanted to put it down!

The way the two women meet is far fetched, but a great thriller nonetheless.
I almost gave this 5 stars but Eva's story just wasn't as interesting to me as Claire's. I found myself reading Eva's chapters a little slower than Claire's. Overall the story was interesting, I guess I was just more intrigued by the woman trying to disappear from her rich, powerful and abusive husband than I was the woman running from a life of drug dealing. I get that both didn't have the biggest hand in the cards dealt to them but I feel Eva had more of a choice to say no than Claire. Either way neither deserved the life the had to live prior to switching of flights.
Surprisingly addictive and hard to put down. I had to know all the answers so I had to keep reading lol. Very good storyline and characters. Normally I get bored with these types of reads but I was all-in with this one. Very fun psychological thriller and one I definitely recommend.
A thriller with perfect pacing that kept me hooked until I finished it at 1am. Amazing.

I really enjoyed this novel but the ending felt anticlimactic to me. The author could have explore the dangers of Claire and Dex meeting. Outside of that, the character development was great. I really enjoy when authors give the meat of a main characters background, were you can understand why the characters make the choices they have made or will make.

The Last Flight is a story of two women who both want to disappear. And do so. They exchange places, one fleeing an abusive husband, the other her life as a drug dealer.
Oh, I flew through those pages. A thriller, but not so terrifying that I couldn't read it, as has often been the case with me in the past. And a delight to observe as the pieces fall beautifully into place.
In my mind, this ranks up there with Gone Girl as one of the best psychological suspense novels I've read. Two POV's of two women we root for- from very different lifestyles but both desperate to escape their lives. A page-turner.
The Last Flight was one of my BOTM picks for June 2020. I waited for the Audible version to become available because I enjoy listening while reading from a book. The audio version did not disappoint! It was great with two narrators telling each character's parts of the story!
I found The Last Flight to be somewhat predictable in places, but there were a few details that came out of nowhere and they were pivotal and definitely raised this book to another level for me. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from author Julie Clark.
Solid novel, but wasnt as intense of a thriller as I'd like. Clever use of a not common nickname to hide the connection between the two ladies. I haven't ever heard any Danielle s go by Ellie so well done in that front; I think if she picked Dani instead it would have been very obvious. Also a great use of time and perspective to tell the two stories.
