Beautiful, beautiful children's book. I remember crying about this thinking about my own mom as a kid. I really recommend it to little ones.
After this, I force-kissed the palms of my kids' hands and they squirmed away in horror, screaming NO NO.
Vastly superior to the board book version ([b:A Kissing Hand for Chester Raccoon 18467809 A Kissing Hand for Chester Raccoon Audrey Penn https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1379393180l/18467809.SX50.jpg 26127426]) I read alongside it. Good for separation anxiety, facing fears, trying new things, and children learning that they can both give and receive love and comfort. The illustrations are sweet, especially the last page, but I wasn't the hugest fan of the artistic style.
This is a cute book about a little raccoon who is scared to go to school. I'm sure it's especially cute if you're a parent but I am not so it's just normal cute for me. I couldn't help but love the baby raccoon though:
Also I couldn't help thinking about this PSA so this book had an air of nostalgia that it didn't quite earn.
