I really really enjoyed this book and the themes that it explored. Race, priviledge, class, and status. The book looks at what these themes mean to people, how these things change in the world, and how these themes and changes effect families. This book would be excellent in a classroom setting so many discussions can be had about the topics explored in this novel. The ending was a bit sad and disappointing to me but I do understand that it is realistic.
