I usually enjoy N.R. Walker books but this one didn't work at all for me. There were too many plot holes and things that were poorly explained. And I don't think the author did any research into preschool teaching (or the actual salaries preschool teachers earn) (or how 4 year old kids actually behave).
The bottom line is that there was just something weird about two immortal, heavenly angels who, on the one hand are concerned about the fate of mankind, and on the other hand are boning for days at a time. They never felt like real characters to me, so I didn't care if they ended up together or not.
Swing and a miss for me, but I'm still a big fan of the author. YMMV especially if you can appreciate the big, bad angel who oversees the Hell Department also going all soft over baby goats because they have “smooshy faces and tiny baby-goat horns and tiny goat feet.”
