2.5 Thoroughly average! If you've read romances before there is nothing new in this book. not a single original dialogue that you wouldn't have read before. As a consequece There are many better versions of this book out there. There is just so much telling and not even a little bit of showing. The Author says the MC is a charismatic guy well we dont see that anywhere. This book has fanfiction level of depth to it in that sense. Telling only works if these chracters had been fleshed out in some canon literature and then the reader would take it from there. I just decided to put all the flaws aside and finished the story only because it was easy to read and the MCs were not so annoying that you couldn't bear to read another word about them.
A light reading, and a pleasant one at that. It's laugh-out-loud funny, sexy, cute, and wholesome. The characters are mostly likable, even down to the nosy and gossippy aunties. The female main is Marvel devout. The male main loves Indian food. What's not to like, eh?
Fake relationship is one of my favorite tropes, it gives us so many FUN moments!
The Dating Plan was a really sweet, cute, quirky, entertaining and steamy romance.
I enjoyed Daisy's humor, her intelligence and her love for Marvel (very funny moments regarding her clothes...), her family was wonderful (specially her aunts, I loved them!) and I really liked how we got to see her growing into this confident, badass female CEO.
Liam was a bad boy, with a chip on his shoulder, with some heavy issues regarding his family. I enjoyed Liam's character but I never truly felt he was a bad boy...
I loved their chemistry, their steamy moments, their banter and their obvious connection. I also enjoyed how both of them needed to overcome some issues about themselves before they could deal with what they were really feeling for each other.
The downside was that Daisy's grudge lasted too long (it was 10 years ago...!) and there were a lot of things happening that kept taking the focus out of their romance to the point I felt they didn't had much time together on page, if that's make sense.
Anyway, I still enjoyed this one a lot.
As many other have noted, Daisy is annoyingly quirky. Also, the author really needed to rethink the age gap given their past. ( 4 year ago gap is fine with adults. duh. Him being “aware” of her when she turned 16 is uhhh....real special. There were some moments I enjoyed (yay, swords!) and prose was an easy read. That being said, this is one HEA I don't need to revisit.
I really enjoyed this book. daisy is such a fun character and I love the family aspect of Sara's books. She does a great job showing the importance of family but also being your own person.
