The Blood Blooms in the Barrens, Vol. 5

Tomonaga, a member of the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF), is dispatched to Djibouti in Africa. While on a mission to rescue a distressed helicopter, he rescues Askira, a woman whose entire family was massacred due to an ethnic conflict. However, the Wazdein clan, who are pursuing her, kill seven of Tomonaga's twelve comrades.

As they flee from relentless enemies driven by oil interests, they arrive at an abandoned town. They attempt to set traps and ambush their pursuers, but the overwhelming number of enemies forces them to abandon the plan. They try to escape the town, only for their vehicle to be blown up.

With only Tsukuda and Kajitani left, they switch to a desperate strategy—using the rest of their team as decoys to lure the enemy into a single warehouse. But what awaits them…!?
