Anne of Green Gables is a novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. Originally written as a young adult book, it is great for all ages and has been considered a classic children's novel since the mid-20th century. The plot brings us back to the late 19th century. The novel describes the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl, who is mistakenly sent to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. The novel recounts how Anne makes her way through life with the Cuthberts, her adventures in school and within the town.
