Light and fluffy read, fun story - I thoroughly enjoyed it!
While I sometimes felt a bit exasperated with Summer, I can still understand where she's coming from.
Bonus points for Graham being a likeable geek and neither a model of perfection (maybe besides his looks ;-) ) nor an absolute douche-bag (AKA “alpha male” ;-p ).
Summer's parents were hilarious, and there were a couple of laugh-out-loud moments.
I really like Ms. Labonte's writing, and I'm happy to see that there is a sequel!
The story jumps around making it seems like there're too many things the book wants to be. Part of it is about a girl trying to find herself, then you have girls who are pretentious and mean. Then you have a love story that ends in a tragedy. But after finishing the final pages, I would say that this is a rather sweet, sad tale about growing up, first love, and being yourself. All of it fits nicely into an easy read, without being too deep or dark.
