I was already prepared for how tall and big Erik was going to be, and although I wish we could see differently, I'm not going to penalize the rating based on this aspect.
This is the second instalment of “The STEMinist Novellas” and my favourite (so far).
This book follows the story of Sadie and Erik, both engineers working on the same building in NYC, for competitor companies. The story is told by interspersing two timelines of events - three weeks earlier (when they met) and today (when they get stuck in the lift).
Ali Hazelwood was able to write a believable insta love story which I think it's a feat, especially considering the novella format. Erik was a sweetheart, and I was rooting for him and really invested in their happy ending.
My main complaint regarding the story is the “miscommunication trope” as I absolutely hate it. Moreover, I am a bit disappointed to read another Ali's book with it as I view it as a disservice to the female characters, which are all supposed to be very very smart.
This was an entertaining read and I think it would be a success with readers of the genre.
Ali Hazelwood is a comfort author at this point. Nobody is going to claim the Steminist novellas are high art, but this one was cute and I liked the characters well enough.
Impressed by how a short story can feel like a whole 300-page book. I absolutely enjoyed this story. There is less context and more psychology (or just more details of what's happening in the FMC's head) but I'm here for it!
Romance novel with vague mentions of science. Dirty scenes (some creepy) and a strange portrayal of OCD.
Today was dedicated to reading, initially with my niece, indulging in “Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.” In the midst of the chocolatey adventure, I struggled to carve out moments for Ali Hazelwood's “Stuck with You.” As I navigate through book two and have already dipped into book three, I find myself pondering whether this author aligns with my literary taste.
While I don't typically lean towards romance, I must admit my enjoyment of this book. The protagonists, brought together by a shared moment involving a subpar croissant, embark on a whirlwind journey from a chance encounter to a one-night stand. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when Sadie discovers something mysterious about Erik the morning after, prompting her to abruptly cut ties.
The narrative, though engaging, heavily relies on two tropes that usually don't resonate with me: instalove and miscommunication. The rapid progression of their relationship in the initial 24-hour period felt emotionally charged, reaching a peak when, around hour 20, a cringe-worthy comment about future health insurance plans is dropped during a bathroom encounter.
Despite these tropes, I found myself smiling, laughing, and overall enjoying the story. Admittedly, I wish it were a tad longer. Having spent the weekend acquainting myself with Ali Hazelwood's writing style, I've decided that my next bookstore visit will involve picking up one of her full-length novels.
3.75 but rounding up to a 4 because I genuinely enjoyed it, and thought it was better than the first novella!

Vlot en leuk tussendoortje, in afwisseling van grotere zwaardere Fantasy, om in één keer uit te lezen. Niet veel over te zeggen. Is een beetje als een aflevering van een soap.
how does ali hazelwood create the most amazing, sweet, loving and sexy men but cringy and annoying women ? this was the worst mc i've experienced in a while. the scene where she thought he didn't speak english?????????? and ofc all the mentions how small, tiny, petite, light, microscopic she is
I'm not loving these novella's. just finishing them because they're like a 100 pages ‘so they're quick and I can make it trough 100 pages'
I pretty much have the same thing to say about this book that I said about the first one. I had a fun time while reading it. I loved the banter and the steaminess but I hate the lack of communication trope so much. These novellas are about women in STEM and we don't really get a whole lot of that side of things but this one actually had a supportive man who is in STEM as well so that was a nice addition. Overall these novellas are proving to be fun quick easy reads but they aren't mind blowing.
Paragraphs of how tiny the FL is and how huge the ML is. I don't mind that whole he's-so-big and me-so-tiny schticks but does it have to be constantly repeated. Enough!
I have issues on how the hate which was supposed to be so aggressive can easily be washed away with one 5 minute explanation. I'd like to think a little flattery would not make forget a betrayal that includes my life's work forgiven.

This book surprised me! The first book of the series left so much to be desired but this book had so much more to it. The characters were shelled out, the romance was there, and the smut wasn't weird!!! - a big feat compared to the 1st book. Although I am not a big fan of the miscommunication troupe, the fact that this was a novella made it tolerable. Overall, I enjoyed this book and can't wait for the continuation of the series.
This was so cute! I didn't enjoy it quite as much as Under One Roof, but it was still super fun. I love Erik and Sadie so much. Ali Hazelwood's ability to do both sweet and spicy is unreal! The narration is so well-done, single narrator but she does the voices so well! Miscommunication trope is in full swing for Erik and Sadie, who meet at a diner and happen to also work for competing companies. Sadie is so sweet and quirky, and Erik is broody in the best way and just so hot! When they finally communicate, they reach the sweetest resolution

A little too instalove on Erik's part. But these two were so cute together.
The chemistry was definitely there and the emotional connection made sense and was well established.
The miscommunication stuff was predictable, but it didn't bother me that much.
I liked how the author chose to write the dual timeline.
Overall, entertaining, sweet, and steamy.
The fact that this book had the best love interest out of all ali hazelwood books yet and was still so completely mediocre is kind of impressive.??
