A teenage daughter of a well known wealthy family in Miami makes an adult decision while alone and drunk with a fellow student not knowing she was being filmed. The Ross family must now repair the damage that has been done while the matriarch of the family, Emma, deals with her own past and secrets that this incident brings up.
Zoe and Lilly are the teen 15 year old twin daughters to Emma and Bobby Ross. Bobby cannot stop judging his daughter for the mistake she made and Emma wants so much to tell her daughter that she has been in the same boat but to do so would mean she'd have to admit to her husband about a secret she's been holding on to for 15+ years. Overall this story resonates as I am a mother of a teenage daughter and it was very sad to see just how evil social media can be.
I gave this book 4 stars because I felt the “come to” moment for the family was short winded after a huge build up frustrations, judgments, and arguments the entire book.
Maybe 2.5 or 3 but the ending really bothered me. I didn't really agree with the moral Conclusion of this story and actually really disagree with it. That upset me.
overall though the characters definitely pull you in very well and the topic is intriguing. Itwas just really hard for me personallyto root for anyone and I don't love that in my novels. I will be giving the other novel's a chance though as I do think there is potential in the writing here.
Thought-provoking and realistic and utterly terrifying for a parent.
When one of Emma's teen twins is caught on camera at a party and the video goes viral, the results have far-reaching consequences on her entire family.
Rochelle Weinstein has tapped into every parent's nightmare in this poignant story.
