She Started It

I can't believe so many things about this book. I can't believe they didn't know this was Poppy's sister. I knew the second she's mentioned at first in the book. Especially with the journal entries. It's not Poppy telling her story, it's someone reading her journal. I can't believe everyone didn't think ruining Poppy's art project and therefore destroying her chances at attending her college was “just a joke” and “not a big deal”. I can't believe that they all just thought someone they were terrible to wanted to treat them to a fancy trip and wanted them to be in her wedding. Ridiculous.

This is a really good read for the summer and definitely a thriller that kept me hooked. I am glad I read it. 

Why the lower rating then?

It's pretty predictable, I figured out all the twists before they were revealed. However I still wanted to know the end. 

The dual POV is confusing. I read this very slowly compared to normal because I kept having to flip back pages to figure out who was talking. 

The characters aren't redeemable at all, they really are awful. And it almost got to the point you hated them so much it wasn't as enjoyable. 

I didn't love the ending - it left it feeling like it was the end of a TV show season with another season coming. 

All that said - there's definitely some flaws in the book but I would still say it's worth reading. I did enjoy the setting being tropical and it still kept me interested to the end. 

Go into this book looking for a revenge story instead of a mystery/thriller and I think you'll really like it just like I did.

Oh my gosh, this was a crazy thriller that I absolutely loved. It was so scary and funny and just crazy.

honestly this was a bit intriguing but it felt a bit lackluster and nothing original. i was inititally going to give this 2.5 stars because it was just middle of the road but the end twist got me by the neck. i saw a lot of this coming but that one twist really delivered. 

i guessed the plot twist right away but i still loved this SO much!!!! good for her.

i really enjoyed this one. i was scared for a minute there in the beginning it wasnt gonna go anywhere but it TOOK OFF. the characters are catty to the max, and the twists did shock me and it was definitely an entertaining read and i really enjoyed reading it
