Ohhhhhhhhh Charley. And Reyes. This book was very fun. Charley and Reyes have some interesting communication problems to overcome. Ya know, with Charley being all pregnant and stuff, which you find out at the beginning of the book, no spoilers here. And the 12 hellhounds are after her, which apparently are bigger than normal hellhounds, so Reyes insists on being her sexy bodyguard.
The chemistry is great, the action is great. This is a great book. I keep thinking I am going to get tired of this series, and boom, the next installment just keeps me interested.
We find out more about Charley's celestial being! Not a lot, but its enough. And she is really starting to come into her powers. There are more appearances from Rocket and Strawberry Shortcake, and obviously there is Ubie, Cookie, and Amber. And there is a really funny scene where Amber is asking about grown up things and Charley gets a little flustered.
Yep, another great installment.
This was such a satisfying installment in the series. I can't get enough of Charley and her humor. I love the author's writing especially because she knows how to manipulate words and make them her bitch.
Only thing that was a little off to me were the multiple cases that Charley was working on. There were too many for any one of them to be memorable; as is true for the other books as well. While sometimes the pacing may be off, the writing more than makes up for it. In this book especially, I appreciated the fact that the author gave us more background about Charley godly powers. I love her bad-ass-ness.
SPOILER AHEAD
Can't wait to see how she handles living in a convent and her new married life. Also, how she handles her father's death, which I totally saw coming. Mostly.
