Adorable Dog & Interesting Story
It had me at “narrated by the dog,” then reeled me in with everything else. I love the way Reggie is portrayed here: he's a “super villain” but only in a term-used-lightly high school drama sort of way. A prankster, a misunderstood soul who hides behind aggression because he doesn't want pity, a guy who just wants to be loved and gets angry when people don't appreciate him: this is the Reggie we meet here, through the eyes of his adorable dog, Vader.
I enjoyed reading this and looking at the charming art style. It felt somehow both retro and modern, in the best way for both. The story itself had some interesting backstory and a plausible plot. (And, of course, Archie messing things up because he seems to have a superpower for flubbing things.) So I definitely look forward to reading the next issue and seeing what Vader has to say about Reggie.
