Read at Your Own Risk is the spine-chilling illustrated sketch diary of a kid who is being haunted after a game goes terribly wrong and an evil spirit starts conversing with her on the page.
"The journal format of The Diary of a Wimpy Kid meets the thrills and chills of R.L. Stine in this middle-grade horror." —The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books
Hannah and her friends were just having a bit of fun when they decided to play a game to communicate with spirits of the dead. Little did they know something would answer their call and crawl its way into the pages of Hannah’s journal. What started out as a game has turned into something much more evil. With dire, horrifying consequences.
Is there any way to escape the curse?

proof that horror aimed at kids is almost always scarier than anything for adults, seriously DO NOT read this if you are afraid of bugs and/or loss of teeth. Having nightmares forever now, thanks Remy Lai. 4 spirits of the coin out of 5
Closer to a 3 than a 1: This body horror for Juv. readers is really going to scare someone! Interesting format and story telling that will certainly get a scare for someone and has a fairly satisfying ending! This missed the mark a bit for me after [b:Pie in the Sky 40032385 Pie in the Sky Remy Lai https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1545183550l/40032385.SX50.jpg 62013814] BUT if you are looking for a shorter read for halloween it's an enjoyable length and story.
