Notorious RBG

The book is better named “10 fun facts about RBG”. The structure is strange. Like another review said, it is indeed like a textbook, listing some of RBG's achievements, citing some of her words, and that's it.

There was a strange atmosphere of optimism in the book, which, given it was written in 2015, is understandable.

The audio book is a disaster. There are a bunch of errors in the audio book which makes it quite confusing. Not to mention that the narrator is just a slightly better version of Siri.

I wonder if there is any proper biography of RBG out there? It would be such a shame if no outstanding biography was published for such a badass woman.

I listen to this on audio book and did get the book to view the additional pictures and art. This was a really nicely spaced book, and a nicely paced audiobook. It was enjoyable to learn more about RBG and some of the powerful cases she took on and the admiration of others. This book is both a fun & empowering journey through Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life. It was a joy to learn more about the woman that has become such an icon, and that I myself have grown to admire. Her conviction and love are represented so well here. I highly recommend anyone pick this book up & read about the Notorious RBG; you definitely will not regret it!

This was EXCELLENT. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of my feminist heroes (I have a long list, with biographies I should read!) and this book is great. It's VERY easy to read, and was never less than fascinating. It includes some of her dissents, with commentary for the layperson written by various lawyers. There are photos of her at various points in her life; her face now is so familiar that seeing pictures of her as a young lawyer was really neat.

The only thing I didn't like was that it's not completely linear; there's a chapter about her 56-year-long marriage to Marty Ginsburg, ending with his death, and then the next chapter starts talking about Marty's reaction to something! So that was slightly odd and I had to flip back a few pages to find the actual dates for what I was reading about now.

Other than that, though, the book was really interesting, and talks about the cases she argued before the Supreme Court before becoming a justice, her nomination and senate confirmation to the Court, and the cases she's seen since becoming a justice. It talks about how Ruth and Marty balanced their work and home lives, in a way that was definitely not normal at the time; Marty was a full partner in parenting and housework, taking over all of the cooking and the 2 am infant feedings because it was easier for him to get back to sleep!

Overall, this was a really neat look into the life of one of the U.S.'s most prominent female figures right now. Justice Ginsburg has been a tireless fighter for equality for her entire career, and this book reveals some of her motivations and thought processes. I loved it.

Fun intro to RBG by millennial reporters. Tried the audiobook but then missed all the pictures and commentary on rulings, so got the book. Would be great in MS and HS libraries. Loved the small details about her life, those are the kinds of questions teens ask about people.

This book is runs the gamut from activist battle-cry, to inspirational, to tear-jerker. The Notorious RGB is truly a badass and we're lucky to have her.

Short Review: This is a light, brief biography of the second woman appointed to the Supreme Court (and currently the oldest member). I am fascinated by the Supreme Court so I happily picked this up on sale last week. It is short. Officially, 240 pages, but there are lots of images and it only took me a few hours to read.

It was a good taste of the life of RBG. But it did leave me wanting more. I would have like to have known much more about her role in the ACLU Women's Rights Project. And much more about her actual work as a judge. The section on her workout routine I think was longer than the section on her 13 years as US Appeals court judge.

I enjoyed the pop culture references and the many images of RBG. But I also look forward to a longer biography of her at some point.

Amazing woman - women's rights have come a long way in the last century - let's hope the USA is not about to return to the dark ages

I really, really, REALLY wanted to love this book. I love Ruth Bader Ginsburg and find her fascinating, and I wanted more than this short book could deliver. I wish there had been more about her personal life, how she balanced the insane amount of work she accomplished. I wish it had been more comprehensive and hadn't jumped around in time so much. But for what it was, it was an enjoyable read, and I read it while on the train in DC and that was kind of cool.
