Overall a good thriller. I would have rated 4 stars, but the n-slur that was thrown in really felt unnecessary.
A taut thriller that was incredibly well paced. I loved it! I loved how it didn't tie up neatly, I loved the twists along the way. This was a great read.
An entertaining popcorn thriller. Fast-paced and exciting, ridiculous and far-fetched, No Exit is the perfect “one-night stand” book - not one that is an all-time favorite or a recommendation to all readers, but one that was thoroughly enjoyable all the same.
Way too much swearing for my taste. The suspense aspect was fantastic. I could hardly put it down.
Wow, what a fantastic thrilling book. I usually don't cringe at pain and death but man oh man the descriptions in this book made the hairs on my arms stand at attention!
Darby is heading home Christmas Eve during the biggest snow storm to hit Colorado, she received a text from her sister that her mother was not doing good. Darby was hesitant to go home due to the rocky relationship they had but it was her mother and she knew she needed to make amends. Darby has to pull over to the nearest rest stop to get out of the snow storm, little does she know she has walked into the most dangerous and crazy night of her life.
Five perfect strangers are stranded for the night in the middle of a huge snow storm and little do they know that their lives are about to bechanged forever. The tension and thrill in this book was palpable and was not easy to figure out who was holding secrets. I highly recommend this book to those who love a thrill ride! I can't wait to see the movie on Hulu...but I'm not holding high hopes!

I have not read many thrillers lately, but this is definitely the best thriller I have EVER read. Every time I thought the action was finally done, another twist would happen. The best part was how many times my expectations were subverted. Also, who doesn't love a strong female protagonist?
I am so excited for the movie adaptation to come out later this year on Hulu.
Read like I was watching a movie! So many unexpected twists and a main character that you're constantly rooting for and isn't a typical protagonist that's constantly messing up.
WOW TALK ABOUT INTENSE!
The full time ur reading the book ur heart is like a roller coaster going up and coming down, zigzagging,I felt like I was holding my breath this entire book.
Looking for a short yet suspenseful book that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time while managing to make ur heart race? Then this is the perfect book for u:)
Woah, okay! I wasn't sure at all what to expect from this novel, mostly because it's beloved on bookstagram and I haven't seen many bad reviews about this novel whatsoever and I gotta say, it did not disappoint. It was one hell of a rollercoaster ride and even when I felt like it was over, it revealed another humongous drop and it became clear that it wasn't. The shock factor is definitely at an all-time high with this one and it doesn't really take a break, like at all.
To begin with, No Exit is about a woman, Darby, who is driving home a long way to see her mother ,from college, because her mother is sick. However, she gets caught in a snowstorm and pulls over at a remote rest stop, where she finds a child locked in a cage, in a van. A lot of things happen after this and it's hard to ever be bored with this book because the pacing is on the faster side and the plot just keeps you guessing because nothing is as it seems in this story. I enjoyed the plot immensely, however it was a bit too much for me at times and I wish it would have slowed down sometimes, even if for just a second. I usually love fast paced thrillers, but this one felt a bit too fast paced for me and I felt like I didn't have even a moment to catch my breath because the action just kept coming. It definitely feels more like an action thriller than a mystery thriller, so if that's what you prefer I don't think you would be disappointed whatsoever.
Further on, the characterization was pretty spot on all throughout the book. Even though it was super fast paced, the author was still able to take us into the minds of the main characters and show us how they see the world. I would have liked to see a bit more into their souls but what we were given was amazing, especially given how much action was packed into this novel. I liked that all the characters had backgrounds and flaws and they all seemed like potentially real people to me. I felt like I could relate to certain aspects of most of the characters, which at least made me slightly care what would happen to them.
Finally, the writing style was precise and to the point, exactly as it should be in my opinion, especially in an action thriller. I was able to picture things as they were happening and could even get a sense of the setting surrounding them, so it was definitely a very atmospheric read and I enjoyed almost everything about it.
In conclusion, if you want a super fast paced, action thriller, then this one is definitely for you. For my personal preference it was a little too action packed and didn't have enough of the mystery aspect to it. I did, however, have no problems getting through this book because it's also packed with some intricately flawed characters and the writing just flows without any effort on the reader's part. Glad I finally got to this one!
This is so good!! There's only a few characters in a winter storm in an isolated location but it's so gripping. And the plot twists! Every time I was shocked. I was tense the entire time I listened to it but I loved it!
3.5 star idk i Think it Should be A 4 star idk yet... I don't even know what to say....I'm speechless but anyway I loved this book it was crazy I mean CRAZY...
on her way to Utah to see her dying mother, college student Darby Throne gets caught in a fierce blizzard in Colorado Rockies. To wait out the storm she went to a rest stop with no cell phone reception. She makes a horrifying discovery, In the back of a van parked next to her car is a little girl locked in an animal crate. Who is the child? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her) There is no way to call for help and no way out. One of her fellow travelers is a kidnapper. But which one?
THIS WAS A ROLLERCOASTER I MEAN THE PLOT TWIST WOULDNT STOP COMING. WELL I PREDICTED ONE BUT IT WAS STILLLL GOOOODDD LIKE AHHHHH
5.0
Wow! It's all I kept saying from the very beginning. I love when books just hook you right from the start and this one did it!! I always see this word from authors as blurbs but it was quite literally, unputdownable!! It made me uncomfortable, it definitely sparked my anxiety but I was so invested. All the twists were so clever I saw none of them coming. It was such a great time reading this! Definitely a favorite!
Loved this one. Doesn't really give you a break for a single page! Recommended if you want something thrilling with plot twists, but don't expect deep literature
3.75 stars that was intense. all the way up to the epilogue. talk about an anticlimactic ending.
Rating a thriller is difficult for me in the sense that I'm not rating it the same way I do other books. Most thrillers are not literary masterpieces. I don't read them for that. With that being said, this thriller is fours stars “for a thriller”. I don't read that many, but it kept me turning pages and surprised me a few times. I started this awhile ago and read the first 50 pages. I put it down for a couple months. I picked it up 2 days ago and finished it.
If your looking for a quick thriller with a creepy backdrop, check it out.
Wow, what a ride - it never let up. It truly kept me on the edge of my sheet the whole time. The tension never flagged. Almost purely plot except for Darby and Jay, who were more well developed but it wasn't necessarily a character novel, so much as an action one and from that viewpoint, it more than succeeded. I found myself wondering what I would do in the same circumstances.
This book had me shouting and groaning and all around freaking out. It had me on the edge of my seat practically the whole book.
100% recommend if you're looking for a stuck in a snow storm with strangers thriller.
Super engaging, fast paced, and great writing. Definitely a horror moreso than thriller but wow this was amazing
Wow! When I think of the thriller genre in the future, this book will be the first one that comes to mind. What a wild, nerve-wracking experience! Once the action started, I did not want to stop reading.
Darby Thorne is a university student traveling home during a snowstorm because she has just received bad news about her mother's health. When the storm gets too bad to continue driving, she stops at a rest area where she finds four other people also trapped by the storm. While trying to locate a cell signal, she stumbles across a horrifying situation. A young girl is tied up and caged inside a minivan. That is where the nail-biting experience begins. Darby must now determine who is the kidnapper as well as try to find a way to save this child.
Darby is a believable character. She is not normally a hero. In fact, she has not been a very good daughter or overall person, in her estimation. She is not usually brave, but she takes on the kidnapper without hesitation because a little girl's life is on the line. She makes a lot of mistake like anyone would, but she keeps fighting. I find that admirable.
The twists and turns of this story line are well-crafted. There were many things that I did not see coming, which is obviously important in a thriller. I am very satisfied with the plot events and the ending.
Overall, this is one of the best thrillers I have read this year. I would highly recommend it!
Wow!! What a great thriller. Well paced and captivating with enough twists and turns to satisfy and frustrate. Didn't feel predictable at all. Loved it!!
I received this book in my BOTM awhile ago and never read it. For some reason, I was wanting to read a good thriller. Well, this book helped satisfy that need. I had a hard time trying to put it down because I was so curious about what was going to happen next. The protagionist did annoy me because of the decisions she made, but I didn't hate her enough to not root for her in the story. It was an easy read that was fast and enjoyable to the end.
