Library of Souls

This trilogy has been a very unique journey and so much has happened to our beloved characters so quickly. I'm always surprised how much content I read with just a few pages being read. So much action! I am very happy with the end.

Definitely better than the last one, possibly better than the first also. Seemed to have more plot and depth, characters were fleshed out and had layers. There was actual threat and horror which could be quite frightening for younger readers.

As with the previous two it relies on the photographs perhaps too muchand nothing in the sequels stands up to the peculiarities of those in the first.

3.5* overall but that's me, I doubt I'll read anything further or return to these works.

This series hasn't disappointed me yet. I'm loving the growth of all these characters. Definitely love peregrine. can't wait to keep going through this series. could possibly be a new repeat favorite

Espectacular

Listening to this on audio was a delight. I was so engrossed into the story that I never wanted it to end. Can'‘t wait to pick up the next installment.

Very good series. I hated to see it end.

This book was more entertaining again than the second part. In general, the author didn't max out the full potential of the idea though. But maybe I'm gonna get surprised again in part 4.

It was kind of a nice ending for the main 3 books, but I liked the others better tbh

A nice conclusion to the series! I really enjoyed this trilogy quite a lot.

This was a very entertaining story.  I´m amazed at this guy´s mind.  I mean, how does he do it?  The story never got dull or too ¨out there¨  for me.  It actually got better as it went.  Actually, even when I thought the story was over and was just going to wind up in the last little bit, it actually threw me back into OMG mode again.  
 
I don´t have a lot of books that I decide to keep in my ¨library¨.  Nearly every book I read gets picked up used and after I read it it gets traded or donated.  The Peculiar Children Trilogy will have a permanent spot on my shelf though.  My husband bought me the first book and after reading that I realized I needed to get the books in hardback.  I love the vintage pictures and I´m sure I´ll read them again and again.  I just have to get the first book in hardback for my set to look legit.

This volume might be the best in the entire trilogy. It's an enjoyable and convenient conclusion to an excellent series. The story was darker, more menacing, and scary at times, although it felt draggy on some parts especially when it gets too descriptive in detail. I feel quite sad right after finishing this because I was immersed in this strange world I'd come to know from the two prior installments. I'm bummed to see Jacob and the peculiar children's adventures in Peculiardom come to an end. I highly recommend the Miss Peregrine's series! If you like a little weird or creepy... this trilogy is definitely for you.

I enjoyed this trilogy quite a bit. Seeing the photographs and trying to reproduce Riggs's train of thought as he figured out how to work each one in to the story was an added fun puzzle which increased the enjoyment level considerably. As much as I disliked Jacob's whiny superiority, in the end I came to care about his well-being. Read these books if you like “this world” fantasy and can appreciate some serious teen struggle.

So,the third installment of Ransom Rigg's trilogy of Miss Peregrine and her Peculiar Children was hands-down the best. Our favourite, wonderful, peculiar children encounter more peculiars, more threats, all leading to a spectacular closure. I won't say much (ever fearful that I will spoil half of the plot...) but the book is an utter roller-coaster. Literally. The action is almost frantic, and perhaps, this is one of the (extremely few) problems of the plot. The new characters introduced are very interesting -peculiar or not- and the new set of photos is exquisite. Also, Miss Peregrine is a real kick-ass heroine in this one (and I really hate this expression, but it is the only suitable for her).

I had only one small nitpicking about the end.It felt too lovey-dovey, too ''they lived happily ever - after, but that is just my taste. No need to pay it attention;)

Ransom Riggs has created a fabulous universe, bleak and hopeful and wonderful in all its peculiarity. I think we are looking at a future classic in the history of the Fantasy and Gothic genre.I mightily enjoyed every page of it.

P.S. I will start the ‘‘Tales of the Peculiars'' soon, because I don't want to abandon the world of the loops and ymbrynes just yet.

I want to start this review by saying that I really should have either reread the first two books or at least read some kind of recap of them before starting Library of Souls. For the first chapter or so, I was lost. It had been such a long time since I was in the world of the peculiar children that I had forgotten a lot of what was happening and why things were the way the were. That being said, once I got my bearings, the book became much more enjoyable.

I really love this world and the characters, but the story was lacking in this book. I did not feel the same pull toward the plot as I did with the first book, or even the second book. For me, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children will always be the best book in the series, the other books just did not have the same magic as that one.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. They were engaging and the pacing of the story really pulled me along nicely and made me devour the books. This last book was still very well done and I enjoyed it overall, but it felt mired in details. The photos that accompany the first two books made sense and added the story, where as in this book I felt that they oftentimes, at the beginning especially, did not help to progress the story and were just there because the author felt he needed to use a photo since it is a hallmark of the series. The action picks up towards the end and drew me in for the last 150 pages, but the previous 300 pages were slow going at times.

Read this one to finish the arc of the three-volume story, but my favorite is Hollow City, the second.

Lots of action! Great characters that I love. Satisfying ending. And only a couple tiny coincidences that stretched my suspension of disbelief. The entire series was very well done. The plot moved along nicely. There were no unnecessary distractions for the purpose of increased pages. The characters were developed well and challenged appropriately. The photos add to the atmosphere of the book and really solidified the universe that Riggs constructed. These books are wonderful.

Anyways, I've really enjoyed this trilogy. A lot. It's unique and inspiring, and the writing style is so entertaining, especially with the pictures interwoven into the plot. With that said, this was definitely my least favorite book. Was I disappointed? I don't really know. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting going into it, so I really don't know if I'm disappointed.

I hope Riggs writes more books in the future, because I'm curious where he'll go now that these are over.

What a beautiful conclusion to this wonderfully peculiar series.

Out of all three books, the first was by far my favorite but they all took my breath away. I love Ransom Riggs and this amazing story he created.
