I don't remember a single thing that happened in this book but I remember that wrath is hot
Hmm. Not as good as the second book unfortunately. The plot and its twists were a bit out there and it ended on a good but strange note, like I still have unanswered questions. Maybe I missed something or I didn't understand what was going on, but I enjoyed this overall.
Buongiorno a tutti e buon lunedì! ☀️ Inizio questa settimana con la mia recensione de “Il Regno delle Fiere” della Maniscalco.
I'm really tired of the bad ass powerful female lead having to give up her powers for the sacrifice of others trope. It's played out and honestly just insulting. Yes she gets them back in the end, but that just makes it worse?? What was the point of her sacrifice then? All in all, I'm deeply disappointed in the end of the series especially with how much I enjoyed the beginning
I've said this before and I am going to say it again. Kerri Maniscalco can do no wrong. I went into this book with high expectations and they were met like always. I love this authors books and she quickly became a favorite author just from reading her first series and she's now an auto buy author for me. I don't even need to read the synopsis of her books anymore because I just know I will love them no matter what.
As for this book this is the final installment in the Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy. If you haven't read the first two books in this trilogy I suggest you skip this review because there will be spoilers.
The second book ends with Emilia finding out that her twin sister Vittoria is actually alive and this book is what happens from there. I'm not the biggest fan of how Vittoria went about doing things. I understand in one instance it wasn't her place to talk about a certain thing but everything else she did made it seem like she was just trying to put Emilia through what she had been through at one point. I can't elaborate on that because that's a huge spoiler for this book. It just felt so contradictory because they both are always talking about how close they are and how they would do anything for each other but I personally wouldn't put my sister through everything Vittoria put Emilia through. But again I do understand why she did what she did.
As for the romance of course that's my favorite part. It was as usual amazing. This book is just as steamy as the second book if not the slightest bit more. The romance between Wrath and Emilia is just amazing and I loved how they were always there for each other and how they always did what was best for the other one no matter what. Honestly I could read more about them and never get tired of it.
The ending did feel a little bit rushed to me and I felt like there were some things that were mentioned that didn't get resolved but I think that might be because they will be part of her next series. Overall even though I had some minor gripes this was still an amazing book and I could see myself rereading them at some point.
Kingdom of the Feared was really the best book of the series. Granted, the first two books had very little pros, so that's not that big a thing to overcome. But we actually had plot here, so it was more entartaining.
But it doen't mean that there weren't any problems. The heroine is still annoying. All the description were just tell, not show. That one battle was ridiculous. And the most infuriating thing for me of all was big fat spoilerthat maine heroine had to sacrifice ALL her power to break the curse. For f*ucks sake, why is it always a woman who has to loose her power for BIG FLUFFY LOVE? and for what? So that her love interest will have WINGS? Are you for real? Of course in the last chapter she got half of Wrath's power. But is it really the best that you could've thought of?
Also that unresolved drama of Vittoria/Pride/Envy/Wife has me thinking it is highly probable that this wouldn't be the only trilogy set up in the Seven Circles. If it will be true or not, I'm happy to say good bye, to this series and move on to something else.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. It was incredible. The best out of the three books, I loved it soooo so much!!!
