Jane, the Fox & Me

This book was so beautiful and emotional. About a girl who is lonely and picked on, who has to attend a school camping trip and ends up having a best friend. I can relate very much to this girl, I too, read on the bus to attempt to deflect mean comments. The illustration works with the story telling and its theme. The ending is absolutely touching. It is drawn beautifully and with much love. The story is sad and reminds me very much of my time at school, unfortunately.

A beautiful watercolor and monochrome tale of childhood

I wanted to like it more than I did. It was decent, and some of the art is nice (particularly the Jane Eyre sections in color). It didn't quite connect for me, and the art style is not really my cup of tea, but it was pretty and thoughtful.

Lovely illustrated book, set in Montréal. A pre-teen, bullied in school, reading Jane Eyre. Some nice scenes all throughout.
