I read this book because I wanted to try something different. This is not a book that teaches you how to invest, but only the story of how Charles Schwab started. It was good learning about the lifecycle of a huge business: from the idea of it to becoming a giant brokerage. One message I feel conflicted about is that you have to have family and friends with money, basically, to succeed. Though it is a great help (to have investors), I don't think this is 100% true. It was a very entertaining book, and as someone that's not from the US, it was interesting learning about the different economic crises since the 80s.
