DNF @ 33%/12 chapters
2.5 stars
This book is so boring. I tried to stick with it, even listened to most of it on audio (Chapters 1-5, 11 and 12 audio, 6-10 ebook) with the last two chapters at x1.75 (fast for me) in order to get through it faster, but when we came to another Gabriel chapter I just couldn't do it.
Gabriel's chapters are of him slowly learning what we learned in the fourth book. We see Gregory once and he is so out of character I didn't realize it was him. I wanted to skip Gabriel's chapters all together, but was worried we might learn something new which... I guess we do since we are seeing how the angels view on what they are doing.
Sam's chapters are of her imprisoned in Hel. Some of it IS actually interesting and I know her next chapter is going to finally pick up. I KNOW I should try a little bit more, but with the progress she is making, I don't think things are going to go well and I'll end up horribly frustrated.
It is a hard decision because this means I'm DNFing a series I've mostly enjoyed, but with all the things I've enjoyed in the last books NOT present in this one and with my enjoyment of the last two books dropping, PLUS my dislike of Sam's cheating on Wyatt (OMG why is he still around romantically???), it is honestly time for me to quit.
That all being said, I HAVE enjoyed most this series. I'm sure people who are more patient than I who can get through this book will probably enjoy this series.
