i'm not sure how i feel ab this one, kinda feels like things were left unfinished...
This was a pretty good suspense story!!! I thought the two different writing styles coming together was really interesting, and the plot was Really good!!! The only thing I didn't like were the characters themselves. They felt too two dimensional. I knew a Lot of people like that in my high school, people who just hadn't developed personalities yet, other than what they saw on high school dramas on tv, so I found the characters to be a bit boring. Other than that, it was pretty good!!!
A bit thin, both story-wise and characters, this book feels like it just scratches the surface. Being the first published book for both authors, I feel like neither has reached thier potential here (also co-writing is harder than you think its going to be).
The audio was ok, though both narrators very much sounded like adults and were not believable as teens. There's some really good concepts in here for a book taking place on one night and taking on a riot and racial justice themes. The action moves quickly, but the characters and the resolution still feel underbaked.
Short and powerful. I felt as if I was there, in the high school snack building and continued alongside the girls through this story. I was scared whenever they were scared and cried when they cried. This book reminded me that everyone views things differently, yet we can learn from each other if we make an effort.
