Why can't all YA books be like this?! This was sweet and fun. I could relate to the Asian mother theme and it made me miss my own Ba-chan so much. Kuhn does a great job with the setting, describing Japan and Japanese things without it feeling like she's explaining everything to you. It's natural. Extra plus - all the food descriptions!
