Goblin Mode is a jumble of mindfulness and aesthetic tips that give you permission to be messy and weird. Projects range from super basic, like how to sew on a button, to more ambitious like embroidery. For ambitious projects you'll want to find in-depth guidance elsewhere. This book is more about laying out the possibilities and maybe reminding you what you already know how to do.
The audiobook reader is very pleasant and this could be a nice book for relaxing and/or falling asleep.
Such a wonderful read. I felt less alone and part of a larger thing while reading this book. The illustrations are wonderful, the text is inclusive and devoid of the guilt tripping that you can sometimes find in non fiction books. I borrowed it from the library, but I want to own it so that I can get back to it whenever.
A newer trend, but I think it will stick around honestly. I think minimalism takes a lot of time and money. I feel like people are tired of it because for most it's unrealistic. Having a home that looks lived in and having a collection of things is what is appealing about goblincore. Even better if you are including nature into your home. This book does have some witch vibes.
I liked that they took the time to explain the goblin core and took the time to address that goblins the history of goblins being used as an antisemitic characters. (Like Harry Potter goblins). I liked the little teaching moment for people who may not know this was a good way to handle the topic while trying to re-make it.
The book was in general, fine. Good read!
