One of my favorite spicy romances I’ve read lately!
I haven’t read many (or any) stories about polyamorous relationships but I loved how it was portrayed in this book.
I fell in love almost right away with the trio. Isabel is sweet, understanding and brave. Hunter is a cool guy and devoted husband. Drake is protective, caring and loyal as hell. There is so much chemistry between them that you just can’t help but to root for them and their relationship.
Isabel and Hunter’s realization of their feelings towards Drake feels smooth and believable. Drake may be a fuckboy but he’s so sweet too. In general I just loved their dynamic and interactions. Another detail I enjoyed was Hunter’s bi-panic in the first half of the book. It was hilarious. Seriously, this guy was giving the most lustful descriptions of Drake and finishing up with “…but I’m as straight as they come”. My guy was living in delulu land and it made me laugh so much.
The spice is SPICING in this one. 5/5 rating I would say. Really, I think there’s action in almost every chapter, so beware of that if it’s not your cup of tea. I for one, am not complaining.
My only nitpicks would be that, while the characters are well established, I think they didn’t have that much depth. Outside of what was needed from them in the story they didn’t have other interesting aspects in their personalities and it made them feel a bit two-dimensional. Also, I would’ve liked to dive in deeper in Drake and Hunter’s past and the early stages of their friendship. Same for Hunter and Isabel’s marriage. I don’t know if it’s because this is part of a standalone series and maybe this story was covered in a previous book? It felt at times as if I was reading a sequel to a story that was previously established. Regardless of that, I enjoyed this book so much. It’s my first Sara Cate book but it won’t be my last!
So this was my first poly romance and the first book I read in this series cause a lot of people said it was the best one. I feel robbed of a good first experience.
It just felt like the dynamic was written by someone who doesn't understand it and I hated that. Their relationship felt off and the conflict felt like it was dragged in such a bizarre way. The bisexuality representation was also one of the bigger issues.
It got extremely repetitive to a point that I had to start skipping pages and I absolutely hate doing that

It's a 4.75 for me. This is the book I was worried about the most in this series, and I honestly feel like it's the best one yet. I was scared to read it because it wasn't my cup of tea and I thought it may be hard to get through because of the plot, but I couldn't skip the book. So i gave it a chance. And it was fantastic. All the feelings, all the characters, just everything. There's something in the plot that leaves a sour taste on my tongue, but if it weren't for that detail it would have been a complete 5 star for me. But it really was good and I am so happy I read it. I'll definitely keep reading the series, but it may be hard to top this one for me.
This is my favorite book so far. The storyline was wonderful and my god I wish I could read it all over again. I loved how they visited various clubs and how they learned more about themselves after each one.
so far this is my favorite in the entire series!! honestly, i don't think anything will take its place either! i absolutely loved this one. drake is my absolute baby. the growth hunter went through from the beginning to end was absolutely insane and i loved reading it. also isabel is just a badass - DUH. the three of them have my whole heart and i will always think of them. this was my first book with a throuple in it and WOW. amazing.
If I'd had a less hectic week, I know I would have flown through this in a day or so, it's just perfection. I absolutely love this series and Sara Cate's writing.
Very interesting and almost perfect poly romance, also struggled with self acceptance.
Super interesting storyline, but not my favourite in the series! They are a fascinating throuple to read about.
I was always rooting for them, and I felt the dynamic was really well described. I was super into them, and the writing and character development was genuine and on point.
The series is definitely formulaic and there is one part of this formula that I don't like. The third act fuckery is just weak at this point. 4.5.
This is the most emotional of all the three so far and the one where everyone involved had the most to lose. I was sold on their friendship and their love. I hated how one character kept getting the short end of the fuckery. I do think the relationship development had to be developed more. It wasn't addressed at all.
With that said... I was all in from page one. I wanted to see this all the way through. I was INVESTED. This was goodt!!!
Loved this book, my favorite of the series so far! Can't wait to listen to the next one!
This was a 5 star book for me until the epilogue. The pregnancy did not fit these characters at all and I don't know why but it seems every book I'm picking up lately has a random pregnancy at the end that does not work for me.
