Ghost Camp

The tagline and cover for this book are very far from the actual contents. The camp uniform is all-white, at no point are there invisible kids in camp clothes, and the only thing that really feels fitting is the atmosphere of the dark, spooky woods. Nothing else fits.That said, however, this is... alright, for a middlegrade ghost story. There's far too much foreshadowing and the end goes off the rails a bit too much for my tastes, but it's not terrible. In fact, I quite liked the general atmosphere and it was a quick, easy read without feeling too juvenile.I do think this will be the end of my attempt to delve into the nostalgia of Goosebumps, though. And since my library doesn't have any of the ones I actually read as a child, the nostalgic sheen has completely worn away - never to be seen again. It was an alright ride, though. Perfectly fitting for Spooktober.
