Ranger stopped for a light and looked at me. “How about you? What's in your bucket list?”
I was stumped. I didn't have a bucket list. My bucket was empty.“I haven't gotten around to making a bucket list,” I said. “Do you think that's a personal failure?”
“No. You're busy living every day. That's a personal triumph.”
“It doesn't feel like a triumph. It feels like I'm moving through my life with no important goals or aspirations.”
“What do you consider to be an important goal?”
“Being a doctor or a vulcanologist or a marine biologist or finding the Ark of the Covenant.”

FORTUNE AND GLORY
Stephanie is back to being indecisive about the men in her life, and is possibly becoming a little indecisive about continuing as a bounty hunter. This story did not disappoint. Grandma is just as crazy as ever. There are antics at the funeral home, and Lula had some unique clothing and hair changes. Oh, Stephanie has a hair change in this one also. Interesting.
After listening to part of the next book in the series, I'm excited to find out what happens next!
Another hilarious romp with Stephanie Plum, her long-suffering parents and Grandma Mazur.
Another solid Stephanie Plum novel with her family and side-kicks and love interests. Realized I missed #26 but this story stood on its own. A new character is introduced in this book that the author is writing about this year. I think my favorite character is still after all these books Grandma Mazur. She makes me laugh out loud every time.
And it's Stephanie Plum, accompanied as always by the quirky Grandma Mazer, Lulu, Ranger, and Morelli, off to find fortune with clues left by her newly-widowed grandma from her grandma's recently-dead gangster husband. And now let's add the mysterious Gabriela Rose and the allergic-to-everything George Potts. For this episode, Morelli moves off camera to allow Stephanie some solid Ranger time. Expect some blown up cars or homes or (even) mausoleums, or perhaps all three and more. It's always fun to take a walk in Jersey with these characters.
