Finding My Voice

I knew OF Valerie Jarrett, but knew little to nothing about her. This book came up on a recommendation, and I decided to check it out. I was impressed. Valerie tells her story from childhood, to working in Chicago with Mayor Richard M. Daley, to hiring Michelle Obama, and becoming friends with Michelle and Barack, to working in the White House as the Senior Advisor to the President for eight years. Valerie has a very interesting story and it was well written. I loved hearing some of her personal times with the Obamas. I loved hearing about her life as a single mother, and how she struggled to give her daughter the time needed, yet at the same time, was brave enough to do what was best for her career. You are an amazing woman Valerie. I applaud you.
I would recommend this book to everyone. (especially if you like Chicago!)
