Detonation Boulevard

4.5 stars. A short tale, but chock-full of the author's evocative descriptive prose and character-building.

Interesting setting and fun concept, but the ending felt really abrupt, like after a certain point the author didn't know what to do with the story anymore. I was looking forward to something explosive but it just kind of ends.

Overall an enjoyable read. I found the first half of the story was a bit slow and bit hard to get into but the last half was fast, exceptional, emotional and thought provoking. I'm now keen to read some of the authors longer works.
