Ah yes! This book by Nevada Barr reminded me why she is one of my favorite authors. Park ranger Anna always has mad skills and a crazy mind. Great story.
I love the character Anna Pigeon, and the narrator of this series of books does a fantastic job of telling the story, but this story is just too dark for my taste.
Ugh, Barr has lost her touch. She seems to have some disturbing fixation on child molestation (see also: Burn) as well as trying to get inside the minds of killers, and there is practically no mystery in this novel! The whole darn book is about trying to escape from creepy kidnappers instead of a traditional Barr National Park mystery. Skip this one.
