Daughter of the Sun: A Mothmar Novel

Daughter of the Sun is a YA fantasy novel that follows the experiences of Solyana and Pallah, 2 young women who are trying to find their place in Mothmar. It's the first installment in a trilogy. There are elements of magic, friendship, family bonds, and hard choices.

The story is woven so beautifully between different viewpoints and time periods. It flowed, even when I was still figuring out how everything tied together.

The world building in this book was spectacular. I feel that Amanda must have been meticulous in her planning and it shows. Sometimes it can be a struggle to follow along in the beginning of a fantasy series, but I never felt lost in this one.

My favorite character so far is Solyana. She's tough, and courageous, and willing to do hard things. We're given a chance to learn much about the main characters, but I don't believe all of their secrets have been revealed yet.

It was a quick read for me and I didn't want it to end. Plus a cliffhanger ending! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series (coming on November 7). (But, I may have gotten an eARC in my email this morning
