I really don't like either of them or the dynamic. I think if I had read this back when I first started reading contemporary romance, I would have been for it, but meh not my style anymore.
I stopped at like 50 percent just cause it felt like they were happy and together but there were still so MANY pages left and I just couldn't put myself through that torture.
Also the writing and plot kinda reminded me of a wattpad book

how many times do you need us to know that she's tiny/short and he used to be a manwhore but not for her cause she's so special (which is completely out of the blue because she has no personality). That's the whole story up until the point I forced myself to read.
She gives off extreme pick me vibes which is painful to read
This book had absolutely no business being 600 pages
And then I read somewhere in the comments that this was a wattpad book and I was like oooohhhhhhhhhh okay.
That isn't wattpad slander because I was a 1D fanfic slut for a long time but it definitely explains the plot/characters of this book.
Oh and every time he said pipsqueak I died a little on the inside
This book came highly recommended, and it definitely hit all the marks for me! Consider Me is the first installment in the Playing for Keeps series and the first I've read by Becka Mack. The story follows professional hockey player, Carter, and high school teacher, Olivia. Carter has a loud personality and a cocky disposition, especially when it comes to the ladies. Olivia is best friends with one of his teammates girlfriends, and his attraction to her in immediate. Olivia isn't like other girls he's hooked up with in the past, and this makes her question whether or not Carter is serious about his intentions. Y'all, the banter between these two is so good. I found myself absolutely cackling at parts! There is a fair bit of tension, and the spicy bits were super fun. I loved how the communication between Carter and Olivia was written and how even though Carter had this huge boisterous personality, he was still super tender with Olivia. There's also some extremely special friendships in this book and I can't wait to read about those in future books as well. Consider me definitely scratched my hockey romance itch, and I can't wait to read book 2! This book is an adult sports romance, 18+ for sexual content.
Carter. Freaking. Beckett. I loved this book. I was smiling and laughing almost every page. I was really really hoping there wasn't a 3rd act break up. And idk if that's what I'd call it, but it was there. But it didn't last long and that's okay. The communication in the book is above almost any book I've read. Thank you so much Carter and Olivia for (mostly) communicating your actual feelings. I loved this book.
freaking adorable
Stop it! This book was adorable. I need more and can't wait to start on book two! Carter and Olivia are perfection and no one can convince me that this isn't a 5⭐️ book.
