Leuk, spannend en sexy verhaal. Het midden was een beetje langzaam voor mij, maar het was gewoon leuk. En het had echt een lekker tempo. Je leest hem zo weg! Ik hoop dat we ze nog gaan zien in de andere boeken
I didn't really feel invested in anything in this book (romance, characters, plot)
It was entertaining enough and I was never bored so I think it deserves 3 stars, but that's all I got
Tested the BookTok dark romance waters again and... this was so fucking bad lmao. Not as bad as Z*** A** but still Wattpad-level horny teenager trashy bad. Honestly I think the only reason I got all the way through this is the length. If this had been any longer than its measly 300-ish pages I would've DNFed this.
I received this e-arc from NetGalley in return for my honest opinion

I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. It did lack some dialogue on how they fell in love. It was pretty much getting married and doing some stuff together and oh we are in love.
But, I did really like it. Both Aida and Callum where fun characters and I liked all the side characters too.
Caught myself while reading at work more then once!
I had no idea what to expect of this but I'm so pleasantly surprised!!!
Such drama, angst, and action.
I hesitate to say cute, but a cute mafia forced marriage romance.
Lacked character and plot development. Felt too dull. I liked the word that the author introduced, but I wasn't particularly crazy about this particular couple/story.
Girlies hyped this up too much. It was okay, but like, i've read way better you know?
Also the awful age gap is just so unjustified and unnecessary, they could easily be 21 and 24 or something like that and it wouldn't change a thing in the plot. Idk why these author keep writing 20ish years old behaving characters and saying that they're older like ????
maybe i'll read the next ones... still on hold for now tho :)
This book was ok. It was entertaining if you didn't think too hard while reading it. Very cliché mafia romance, entertaining, but that's about it. I wasn't a fan of Aida but that's just personal opinion.
One thing I found weird was the whole “I hate you but I'm going to jump in the shower with you and then we hook up” scene was a little weird but I guess you gotta move the story along somehow
Book 3 of my power outage book binge.
Day 5 without power.
2.5 stars
An ok read. Didn't enjoy Aida or Callum, they acted mostly like two spoiled brats.
The chemistry was there and there was no insta-love but the lust kind of came out of nowhere IMO.
I enjoyed Aida's brothers though and I was super into the families dynamics.
I might check the next one.
I read this as part of The Swoon Sisters Book Club. It took me a little bit to get into this. In the beginning Callum was a little “abusive” toward Aida and I didn't care for that at all. I should also point out this is an enemies to lovers mafia romance. And I mean true enemies. They literally try to kill each other at one point. There was a little to much politics for my liking. I could care less about Callum becoming the Alderman and all that entails. Once things with the romance started picking up is when my interest was peeked. Aida can hold her own and I loved her character. I loved seeing these characters go from hating each other to being in love. I will definitely continue on with this series.
I'm here for the petty pranks that had me literally gasping out loud and shaking my head.
I can tell the author did her homework.

This book definitely didn't disappoint! I love how enemies to lovers this book was. Most enemies to lovers romances don't really foster hate for long but this one really did. I find that Sophie Lark is really good at making mafia romances a perfect balance. It has enough mafia elements and action for people who love it but it's not overbearing so people who aren't the biggest fan of mafia romances, could still enjoy it. The characters in this were literally phenomenal and their chemistry was literally popping off the page.
