I am not certain if I read any books by Sandra Brown previously. This book started a little slow, but the story was well detailed and engaging. Alexandra Gaither is a young attorney investigating the death of her mother, Celina. Celina died when Alex was very young, but the case against the attacker was very weak, and Alex wanted details. The three main suspects are all men. Two of the men were Celina's boyfriends, and the other, a very powerful businessman, is the father of one of the young men.
The story at times seems very unreal. To me, almost an Old West feeling. Although this is marked as fiction, there are some parts which are very detailed romance.
Although I liked the story-line and thought some of the characters were very interesting, the ending wasn't the best. It just ended. I'm not sure how to make it better, but I just didn't feel any emotion after I closed the book.
