There was lots to like in this book, the banter, the slow burn and the enemies to lovers trope I love. I loved our MMC.
However, there were things that kept pulling me out. I know the siblings have been through trauma and tragedy, however, I find that I have a hard time liking them. Them seem sort of whiney and play the victim. I'm not saying they don't have reasons to feel that way, but I think how they have processed the past has left them with traits I find it harder to connect too.
And as always, the residents of Rome are very oversteppy and not in a fun campy way.
Yessss I loved this!
Rivals to lovers, then neighbours.
Emily was the perfect oldest sister, taking care of everyone except herself and her emotional needs.
Jack was so cute with his fashion and jewellery made by his students. He was tender hearted and needed Emily and her banter more than anything. He was so authentically himself always especially around her and they were the perfect fit.
