I have a theory that I liked this more than most because I listened to the audiobook and the Irish accent is charming enough that the characters weren't annoying, but I understand the complaints. Glad it was the first Sally Rooney book I read/listened to because it was all uphill from here!

Every Sally Rooney book is a depressing, intelligent banger. I empathize with all her characters so much.

No big plot line, just follows their life for a while

lovely re-read, i definitely enjoyed it more the second time around. rooney’s ability to capture relationships in such a realistic and multi-dimensional way never fails to astound me. beautiful world, where are you left my heart so full.

Loved how all of the characters and situations are highly relatable in one way or other. Even though no character can be described as lovable but they feel very real and familiar. ??

no offense but when I go on my “birth control messes up ur hormones and moods real bad” rant I will finish off by hitting u over the head with this book

daddy kink aside, enjoyable for conversations and being controversial. yet another Sally rooney book where nothing really happens tho

Bleak, dreary and self-important rubbish.

i really tried to understand the hype around this author's books but. this one was just so boring and didn't really give me anything to work with? i started to dread listening to it. so.

Can't believe I read this and liked it. To be fair, I listened to it so that I wouldn't have to look at the abomination of no quotation marks. If I read it, I'd probably have deducted a star. Consider yourself lucky, Sally Rooney.

Of all Sally Rooney's books I've read, I liked this one least of all.
Funny how it is the only one with a semblance of happy ending for all characters.

The author has a unique talent for describing
characters and their lives,  even if some of the
characters are a little annoying,  but I admire her writing style.

.....yeah not my type of book. 2 stars for the hype

Let me start with the title - I didn't get it. But I don't judge a book by it's title.
The story was good, but not a wow for me.
