This book was super well written. I loved the writing. I loved following the characters. I loved the premise. I did not love how it wrapped up so quickly and brushed away the significant conflicts with a shrug of the shoulder.
Cute story. Liked the characters. It took me a bit to realize that most of the character names are towns in Nebraska. The storyline regarding the Indian Hills Theater made me feel a nostalgic and a little sad - was sorry they tore the place down. Used to love going to movies there.
Pretty cute, this was not really what I expected it to be. I thought the love interests would have met sooner and more of a meet-cute. Having said that, I am glad with the way the story went. I really enjoy the e-mail style mixed with the perspective of the main character. In short: sweet, interesting and fun.
tbh i'd be creeped out by someone developing feelings for me because of the emails they're reading about my personal life
It's cute fluff. It's like a young adult book but for adult adults, which i much prefer (not a fan of reading books written by adults with Witty Teens™ falling in love).
As someone who hasn't read a rom-com in a a few years this reignited my love for them!!!
This was such a simple and nicely written story. I love the way Rainbow writes her characters with such detail and love. And I always love the way she ends her stories. This was a joy to read and I was rooting so hard for Lincoln to overcome all the troubles in his life because I'm currently at a job I hate and want to quit where I'm surrounded by the wrong kind of people who I don't even interact with. So I might have felt this book a little strongly. 🥰
A quarter of the way through, when I was guffawing my way around my house, cracking myself up by repeating lines I'd just read, unable to stop snickering as I made dinner, I decided that any book that made me laugh and laugh would get 5 stars unless it blew it big time before the end. It didn't. I binge-read this one from after work till midnight, and re-read the last 10% over breakfast because it was such a sweet HEA. Awww! Time to read more by this author.
This books follows Lincoln , a shy IT guy who's job is to monitor the emails in a newspaper office .during his job , he becomes interested in reading two girls emails , Beth and Jennifer , and the story kinda starts from there .it's a cute book , like all Rainbow Rowell's , but i gotta say it's my least favorite book of hers , i felt the story didn't need to be long , if it was a 100 pages shorter i think i'd have loved it more .One of the things that i liked in this book was Beth's character. she's funny and smart and cute and just amazing , and i could really relate to her :D Also , i just love it when a book mansions pop culture references , like star wars or lord of the rings or other mentioned movies , i think it helps make the story more real .Overall , this book was good , but If you wanna start reading for Rainbow Rowell , i recommend u start with }Fangirl or Eleanor and Park , those two books are much better than this one.And finally , i had to write my favorite scene or quote from this book . i was absolutely in love that i read it multiple times . so beautiful : I Found myself thinking that this is how i would want to dance at my own wedding. The kind of dancing that's more like touching to music.that's more like closing your eyes and trying to think how you would tell someone that you loved him if you didn't have words or sex.”“
General statement for all my reviews on books by Rainbow Rowell:For reasons regarding what Rainbow Rowell has written in the past, and her continued defiance to listen to those hurt by this, I no longer read her books, or support and promote her in any way. I am sorry for supporting her, but I won't hide my mistakes as that would be wrong, instead please be aware my thoughts and feelings towards her have changed due to her behaviour and my opinions on her are now different* - July 2020This book didn't have a review on Goodreads or anywhere else do I have not deleted one, all I have done is clear the rating on here which was originally four stars.
2 Novel tante Rainbow yg ak baca sblmnya genre YA, attachments ini genrenya sbnrnya adult tp isinya cenderung spt YA atau chicklit hehe. Tapi ak suka sih, spt biasa materinya & bahasanya ringan, lumayan cepet juga bacanya.
Lincoln ini sweet banget, blm punya pacar lagi stlh putus sam his highschool sweetheart. Pekerjaannya membuat Lincoln membaca email2 dgn red flag yg terjaring oleh aplikasi. Mulailah dia mengenal Beth & Jennifer melalui email2 pribadi mereka yg menumpang pd email perusahaan makanya terjaring krn masuk kategori red flag.
Sayang porsi Lincoln dgn Beth nya cm di 2 bab akhir pdhl momennya sweet banget. Nah disini kurasa novel ini terasa spt novel YA krn kecanggungan momen antar 2 org yg saling suka.
It was a hard book for me to get into, but once I did I really enjoyed it!
Well, I read this entire book on a cross-country plane ride. Throughout it all, I wondered how this was ever going to work out in a way that didn't feel creepy or weird or contrived. Somehow, Rainbow Rowell did it, and I cried at the end.
OH MY GOD
THAT WAS THE CUTEST THING I HAVE EVER READ IN MY ENTIRE LIFE
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
I LOVED IT SO MUCH
I WANT TO CRY OUT OF PURE JOY AT THIS BOOK
THERE WAS A CONSTANT SMILE ON MY FACE, LITERALLY
I LOVED IT SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH
HOLY WOW
WOW
Another of Rainbow Rowell's fine portrayals of love, real love. Her strongest skill as a writer is her ability to make real, sweet loving moments, and they are certainly ripe in this novel. It could have been more artful, more passionate, more moving, but it was sweet as hell and that counts.
Attachments is one of those rare books that draw you into literally every character. Each character feels real and fleshed out and alive. I love the ongoing theme of the attachments we form to people and how they affect us in healthy and unhealthy ways. The leads, Lincoln, Beth, and Jennifer are such wonderful people and they feel like friends by the end. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good contemporary romance. I didn't see the ending coming at all.
This book was so cute and fun to read. I loved that even though this was Lincoln's story, we got to peek into Beth and Jennifer's friendship. Their emails had me laughing out loud at times. I loved the ending. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, light read.
One of my favorites! Starts with someone reading someone else's e-mails, which is always a favorite of mine. And Rainbow Rowell is pure love.
reread: cuteness overload, as I initially had thought. Jennifer and Beth are funny and witty, and I laughed out loud several times. Lincoln is the sweetest, most gentle soul we can find in an attractive guy who doesn't even know he is so. He makes the expression “wear your heart on the sleeve” come alive. On top of the whole thing, the story is mostly told through e-mails, and I just love it. Rainbow Rowell is to me what Sophie Kinsella was - the girl next door writing. love love love it!
For me, to read this kind of genre is suprising and the beauty of it is that I loved reading this book. Sweet, funny, charming, mushy but not too much.
The main characters were great and you want them to have a happy ending.
I am now a fan of Rainbow Rowell and will continue to read her work.
