Here are the things I definitely love about this book; I love the soft art style, color palette, and the thought that went into developing a story with a message. I enjoyed reading this book, it's got a bit more meat than Princess Princess Ever After but it didn't interest me enough like The Tea Dragon Society did.
If you like cute stories and good art, i'd def. recommend this. ~Ashley
These little stories by O’Neill are always so sweet and nuanced, filled with so much depth and feeling ranging from grief to love. They have a strong sense of family and responsibility. They tug at the heart and present so many perspectives through just a handful of characters. I love these graphic novels!!!
This was adorable, informative (especially after the actual story) and a very easy and fun read!!!!!
I picked this one up because the artwork looked cute. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to be reading until after I started. The artwork remained a adorable and cute throughout. The story hits close to home, even with its fantasy elements. It is about how we take too much from Earth, pollute it, and forget about the other lifeforms we exist with. It is powerful and definitely made me think about how I could do more to lessen my impact and help out.
It also deals with grief, moving on, and learning how to find inner strength to do the right things.
Cute, great story, and powerful message.
5 stars This is my favourite Katie O'Neill so far! The illustrations are gorgeous and it has a good message. Absolutely recommend 💖
An incredibly well written and illustrated graphic novel about ocean preservation and the power of communities. Thank you for presenting strong and beefy female characters, complex life stories and the importance of caring for a complex ecosystem.
Thank you NetGalley and Oni Press for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
