I absolutely loved this book. Ren and Frankie are perfect for one another
This book was so perfect. It was about Frankie (Franchesca) and Ren. Ren is a hockey player and Frankie is the teams social media person. Frankie has autism as well as Rheumatoid arthritis. She has a cane that she named and she considers herself grumpy, but really she is just dealing with pain and a different way of looking at the world and she has never felt accepted.
When she begins to fall in love with Ren she is scared because she feels like she's a lot to handle and he will get tired of it all. Their love story is so real and amazing and it's definitely full of steamy moments, but it's the tenderness and the empathy of the characters that really makes this novel so incredible.
Chloe Liese is very inclusive in her writing and creates amazing characters, but not in a way that is just checking a box, in a real and meaningful way. I am so excited to read about the rest of the Bergman Brothers now. 5/5+ for this book.
4.75/5
I LOVED it. It was so much better than book 1, I loved almost everything about it. The autistic character and the challenges she faces with her autism and chronic pain. The guy who loves her for who she is, who tries so hard. I loved it.
The stupid nicknames they were trying were hilarious. I loved how much Ren loved Frankie since the beginning and how he never gave up. Their growth was amazing, both as characters and as a couple. The relationship was sweet and realistic and I loved it.
I LOVED the part where she got her period and he took care of her. The fact that HE was the virgin in this relationship? Amazing. I loved that he was waiting for the right person and it was with her.
The other thing that I love, that was also in the first book, is when the characters says the title of the book to the person they loved. As Ren told Frankie that it was always only her for him. I love it, it makes the book more special.
What I didn't love is the third act breakup - AT 93%. WHY SO LATE?? and the time ship in the next paragraph? 3 weeks??? No!! I hated that! If it wasn't for that, this book would be 5 stars for me.
I love the Bergman family so much!!!
I have the biggest crush on Ren. When he smiles, I smile.
Also yes Frankie, ride that face girl.
Ren is so emotionally intelligent, it's refreshing.
This was such a sweet book. This is literally grumpy&sunshine trope and I ADORED IT.
Ren is TOO MUCH! Too sweet and polite! I want a Ren now!
I loved this story so freaking much! It was sweet and funny, emotional and steamy! The slow-burn almost killed me. Chloe Liese is a new favorite author to me. Can't wait to read the next one.
Ren and Frankie are some big nerds in love, and I love them for it!
I don't read many slow burns as they exasperate me to no end, but you say hockey romance and I'll come running. It worked out pretty well in the end, I found myself rooting sooo hard for Ren and Frankie through all my face-palming and affectionate eye rolling.
These two have such strong, wildly opposite personalities, that it was surprising how nicely they came together and complement each other. I loved Ren! At first, I thought he would be a bit of a white knight (which kind of but not really lol) but he never once treated Frankie like she wasn't capable and did his best to not overstep her boundaries which was really nice to see. My favorite scenes are where Frankie and Red get more comfortable with each other and let themselves love and be loved.
Frankie is a great character as well. She's so focused on her job and showcasing the best of her team with her social media manager job. It was really fun to see her interact with the team like she was one of them and the team return that friendship.
Minor characters to note: Rob and Lorena are my favorites especially Lorena for the absolute tough love bomb she dropped towards the end of the book. I loved that show friendship, of how much she loves Frankie and wanted her to embrace to chance at good love.
Overall, Always Only You is a sweet, nerdy, authentic love story that I am happy to have read, slow burn n all
4.5. I loved this disability and invisible illness positive romance! More books like this please.
A sunshine hero and a grumpy heroine? Amazing. There were times where I had to take breaks because it was too stinkin' cute.
Their ridiculous nicknames for each other made me laugh out loud. Ren's attentiveness was swoon-worthy. Frankie was strong to begin with but her character development was just wonderful.
It just made me so so happy! I even predicted this would be a five-star read about halfway through.
I adore this book. I enjoyed book one, thought it was great, but this one is even better. So, if you disliked book one, I still think you should give this book a try.
Disability rep: she is autistic and has Rheumatoid arthritis.
I love that Ren is rather shy and is in a Shakespeare club. She's more take charge. Them as a couple worked so, so well.
I'm horrible at writing reviews for books I enjoy, I juts can't find anything else to say besides READ THIS BOOK! hahaha, but I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series when it comes out.
Ah, another thing I thought was super cool was this author includes how shitty JKR is. The characters love HP, but still acknowledge and explain why the author is crap now. Well effing done there. Huge points.
