The last book in the Bridgerton series, which I loved. Even though we didn't get to hear much of Gregory throughout the Bridgerton book, I really did like his character and how much he wanted someone to love after seeing all his siblings fall in love.
Him falling “in love” with Hermonie, with the help of her best friend Lucy. He soon realised that Hermonie wasn't the one for him and fell in love with Lucy and time they spent together. Lucy, however is going to be wed soon, to someone she doesn't love, and is only marrying him so that his family could have an heir. The guy she is marrying, Lucy finds out that he doesn't like girls, in fact her uncle even knew and is only wanting Lucy to marry him to stop the blackmailing that is happening (she learns that her father was a traitor).
Her uncle and Lord Davenport annoyed me, they really were probably the worst characters in the book. It turns out that it was her uncle that was the traitor and Lord Davenport was the one that was blackmailing him and his son had no idea, he gives Lucy an annulment so she can marry Gregory.
OMG!
This is such a good book.
Rachel uses the same train every day, watching as the same view out the train window. Her ex-husband had an affair, with Anna and he had another affair with Megan. However, Megan goes missing. Anna thinks all the phone calls were coming from Rachel and we find out towards the end that it was Megan.
Rachel goes to Anna when she remembers what happened the night Megan went missing because she remembers that Tom was with Megan and not Anna.
The surprise in me when I found out what happened to Megan and who hurt her and the plots twist.
Three cousins have been asked to come help at resort that is currently owned by their grandmother. However, the last time they all saw each was during the childhood.
Milly, Aubrey, and Jonah have never met their met their grandmother, as she disinherited their parents before they were born. Having each receiving a personal letter from their grandmother to work on at the family resort for the summer, curiosity get to the better of them and well as questions as to why they have never properly met & why their grandmother disowned their parents.
I really enjoyed the first couple of chapters as we find out about each cousin, what they are like, and who they are as person.
The cousins were not too thrilled at first to be going back to resort but Milly and Aubrey had sort of accepted it and Jonah was still annoyed as he had been accepted into a Science Camp for the summer which was apparently very hard to go into.
Once they arrived at the resort and start working, Doland, wants to meet them. Donald offered the three another job with better pay, however, he is wanting them off the resort. We learn quiet early on that Jonah is an imposter. While their cousin Jonah (JT) is at camp he sent another Jonah in his place, which Millie spotted by putting clues together from when they first boarded the ship.
The plot twist keeps coming we soon learn that the bartender is indeed their uncle and learn that it was him that contacted them. Jonah kept stringing them along as he wanted to pretty much destroy the Story family name as JT dad (Milly and Aubrey's uncle) made Jonah family bankrupt. And of course, this is when the real JT show his face as a picture got posted of Jonah during an event on the island.
And the plot twist keep coming when the pieces are put together, it is revealed that their grandmother isn't who she says she is. Their grandmother had passed away 24 years ago and her good friend Theresa took her place and acted as their grandmother as she wanted revenge on the Story family for the death of her son.
I absolutely loved this book! All I'm going to say is Justin is toxic. Like toxic!
But overall I loved their story and how supportive Tiff friendship circle were and I adored Leon from the beginning.
It was a good a book, however, I had a love-hate relationship with the characters...mainly Phillip
Phillip is in need of a wife and a mother to his children, Eloise wants to get married as she feels lonely ever since her best friend got married. But in all honesty he just wanted a mother to the children that he can't seem to control and doesn't know anything about (as he doesn't spend anytime with them). He barely knew his kids likes and dislikes before Eloise came. He also wasn't happy with his first wife, his first wife was depressed to the point where she was suicidal. He used that as an excuse to get Eloise to do what he wants as his first wife never wanted to do anything with him.
The children were spoiled and bratty, always got away with things because Phillip was never around (always working), that was up until Eloise came and changed the family.
