DNF at 25%. The banter was TOO much. Too many freaking jokes. Listen I love a witty book, I really do, but 90% of their dialogue with each other were JOKES
The pining in this!
A wonderful example of second chances, yearning, and grovelling.
Felix and Max started as casual hookup, and grew to FWB. Both agree to casual and no more.
It became more, but neither wanted to acknowledge or admit it. Felix was brave and eventually asked for more, knowing that Max was in love with someone else.
The heart break I felt after Felix left Max, standing up for himself….
Max is charming and earnest. He is loyal to a fault sometimes, but with Felix’s quick whit and attitude, they compliment each other so well.
3.5 stars. Pretty typical Lily Morton, but I appreciated the fact that the issue that separated Felix and Max wasn't as simple as physical infidelity. There is a certain sameness to her books these days, but good banter is always appreciated, and they're comforting in this crazy world.
