A Lesson in Secrets

Another easy and pleasant listen with Maisie. I don't think that this is my most favorite book in the series, but I still enjoyed it a great deal. And I'm looking forward to the next one.

This is the first installment in the Maisie Dobbs series that I found really boring.

There seemed to be too many characters introduced that didn't provide interesting red herrings or do anything for the story. And the central mystery was underwhelming and didn't make any sense.

Also, the entire “romance” with James Compton is very superficial and really needs to be jettisoned!

Another good historical mystery from Jacqueline Winspear. Not as entertaining as book #7 ([b:The Mapping of Love and Death 6553733 The Mapping of Love and Death (Maisie Dobbs, #7) Jacqueline Winspear https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1329659691l/6553733.SY75.jpg 6746308]) but still a fun read.3.5 stars rounded up.

Loved it as much as all the other Maisie Dobbs books :)

I really liked this book. I can feel the tension building even after the book is finished WWII is coming. I am interested to see how the future develops for Miss Maisie Dobbs.
