The domestic fluff I needed for my traumatized babies...except my girl nesta :( but it's okay the next book is for her so here's to hoping
This is a filler book. Definitely not for me, but I could see why others may like it
You cannot convince me this was not ghost written by a fan to give SJM more time to write the next book. It's that's bad.
Nice book and didn't cause a breakdown like the others but definitely could have been a bit more something. Also read twice in one year, BABY!
“To the stars who listen and the dream that are answered”
The best book of the series.
Reread: I needed to go back to this world and read some Rhys dialogue to really pick me up.
I don't know why people hate on this, it's a nice and cozy Christmas vibes novella.
Deze novella vond ik echt heel leuk! Sarah J Maas zorgt er elke keer voor dat ik gelijk het volgende deel wil gaan lezen...
enjoyed the story as I have been, but I am not a huge fan of the constant switch of perspective.
3.5 stars.
It was a nice and sweet read. It was so nice to go back to our characters after the previous book and see how they were doing. On the other hand, this book doesn't add anything to the story arc, because it's more focused on relationship building. Last but not least, I am always kinda disturbed by the word ‘mate' and how it is used here. I think another word to describe this magical and deep bond should be used. In the Italian translation, I liked that they used “my other half”, because also in Italian the word “mate” is used in other contexts, which do not fit what the author wants to describe here.
Another note, sex and intimacy scenes could be just left hinted for our imagination, because they are badly written.
So this didn't really have much of a plot. It was more reflective in nature, which is understandable, given that its a novella. That being said, it took me longer than I wanted to finish it because I couldn't just binge read it, but I did love being able to read from the perspective of some of the side characters in the ACOTAR books.
This book did a great job closing the door on the Rhys/Feyre saga and setting us up for Cassian and Nesta! The last two paragraphs were so bitter sweet!
A good story, a nice peaceful interlude probably designed to close the Feyra/Rhys circle and set up the next book. Probably all stuff that could have been explained along the way in the next book (haven't read yet). Was it necessary to the story? No. But, it was enjoyable, and her writing was still solid, so 4 stars.

it took me a while to get into it but SJM did make me cry AGAIN
It reads a bit like a Christmas themed fanfiction. It's a sweet story with warm fires, snow, good food and gift giving. It's cute but has little purpose beyond letting the characters heal a bit and setting up the next book. It was a nice comfort read but it also reaffirmed for me that I am happy to move on to a different series and author for a while.
look. i got halfway through a court of wings and ruin. i decided just to read the rest of plot on the wiki page and get to this one. which turned out to be just as bad but it was only 200 pages so i got through it. cassian and nesta's chapters were semi-interesting? so i will read the next one and see how it goes. i think feyre and rhysand are about two books overdue from retiring as the main characters bc the first two in the series were ok. anyway im quite jaded but i must persevere and finish the series.
A slice of life story to hold us over until the next book and honestly I am here for it. Give me all the mostly happy endings.
Read for Bookoplathon 2021 - 48 hour round
I know this novella is hated on a lot but I honestly really enjoyed it. Was there a point? Definitely not. But I'm such a character driven reader, that seeing some of my favorite characters go about their lives makes me feel so fuzzy inside.
This should've been a short story on a blog or on released on Kindle Unlimited. This did not deserve to be its own book. This is basically just one long epilogue.

Winter Solstice is upon the Night Court. Construction is underway to rebuild, and the people are beginning to heal. It will be a long road to keep the thread of peace that has settled between the fey and humans. But the holiday brings a needed reprieve from the work and political navigation that the characters have endured.
As a companion novel, readers should not expect A Court of Frost and Starlight to be as involved as prior books. The tone Sarah J. Maas sets is tied into a build-up book for the future of the series. Each character readers have come to know in the circle of friends receives at least one chapter. Of course, Feyre and Rhysand earn the most chapters, but by the end of the novel, readers will know how everyone is dealing with the after-effects of the war.
A Court of Frost and Starlight was more of a feel good read. Being able to revisit a world that I've come to enjoy, and experience more of the culture that holds it together. Sure there was a bit of romance. But given that it involves Feyre and Rhys there will be. This book did spark more of an interest for me in Nesta. It teases what goes on in her mind, and how she is coping with being fey, and what she experienced in the war. I certainly want to read the next book in the series and find out if her icy demeanor ever melts.
While I think this isn't a necessary story to read in the series, it will certainly help paint the picture for A Court of Silver Flames. Just be prepared for a lighter read.
